Level 79

Level 53
Jul 23, 2010
there has to be some time added to this quiz. just no way to get all the teams in just 10 minutes.
Level 26
Aug 19, 2010
The most I have gotten is would be more reachable with extra time added on
Level 53
Sep 11, 2010
come on guys, can we get like 15 mintutes on this one? 10 is just not enough time.
Level 56
Sep 23, 2010
We need to add WAY WAY more time. I was typing like mad and only managed 187.
Level 33
May 6, 2011
Level 14
Jun 4, 2011
It doesn't need more time. You need to learn to type and think quickly.
Level 68
Nov 2, 2019
Agree on the "think" part, but I don't think the quizzes should test typing proficiency. In other words, one should have enough time to enter the answers he/she actually knows.
Level 85

Can you accept Cal Tech for Cal Poly?
Level ∞
Nov 3, 2011
Caltech and Cal Poly are actually separate schools.
Level 85
Jan 9, 2014
Any chance of getting this updated with new teams and conference affiliations? The picture has changed somewhat dramatically since 2011. One additional bugaboo that I think many would appreciate is if it could be made to accept "st" for state. Thanks!

Level 85
Mar 9, 2012
It's not impossible, it just takes a LOT of practice, you have to be a pretty fast typist, and you have to use the abbreviations as much as possible.
Level 39
Mar 11, 2012
306/345 after maybe my 15th time. this is quite a pointless quiz, but i am enthralled. i find myself missing a few teams that i would normally get. i could easily be up to 320 or so. another thing i've noticed. you don't need to space multiple team names. i.e. robert morris can be entered robertmorris. ha! as soon as i typed that, i expected the name to disappear!
Level 39

I managed to get 126. I'm Canadian and pay absolutely no attention to College Basketball (except what the couple games they play on sports highlights). It's pretty easy. All I did was guess states, followed by adding st to each state. Then I just started guessing big cities.

I am curious why some "state" schools require at least "st" to be typed and some don't. Such as Fresno and San Jose requiring it but Long Beach, Nichols and McNeese don't. There doesn't seem to be any reason for the distinction.

Also second the motion to redo this with the new current conference alignments.

why the inconsistency with initials being accepted for some schools and not for others? This has always bugged me on every college quiz. GMU, where I got my Bachelor's degree, is never accepted for George Mason University. But some others like VCU are always accepted.
Level 81

I've been working on this and I can complete the quiz in under 4 minutes without using many abbreviations at all. The best way for me to blast through it without forgetting any was to memorize which state every college is in and go state by state geographically in my mind. Within each state you group things in ways that make sense to you. Take Virginia for instance. Do all the colleges with Virginia in the name first. Then Old Dominion since it's a nickname for Virginia. Then the Rs,

Richmond and Radford, the Ls LIberty and Longwood and the coast cities of Hampton and Norfolk St. Then the names, William and Mary, James Madison, George Mason, George Washington. With practice you can run it pretty quickly that way.

Level 83

Maybe you misspoke, but 353 answers typed in less than 240 seconds (4 minutes)?? Not possible to both think of all those answers and type them in that time, unless you had a printed list next to you. Sorry to be the skeptic, but I typed nearly nonstop for the first 15 minutes of this and had around 200 tops.
Level 78
Apr 17, 2019
I agree with most of the people here - needs more time! If you have to type at breakneck speed then it is no longer a trivia quiz, it is a typing test. Trivia is about knowing facts, not about how fast you can type. Unlimited is not an option because you don't get credit towards your level.
Level 78
Apr 17, 2019
For those of you who are close, but just can't get those last few, you can shave off some time by combining some answers. Some states have a University of "STATE" and a "STATE" State University. If you're not already doing so, you can type "st" and then backspace and type the "state name". That will give you both answers without having to type the state name twice. Also if there is a direction in the name like east or eastern, you can just type the 1st letter of the direction (e, s, w or n) and the state name (doesn't work for all of them but does for most).

Bellarmine isn't competing at D-1 just yet. That might be 2021-22 season.

Bellarmine is listed in the ASUN standings on the NCAA webpage. Apparently, they compete for four years at the DI level, but aren't eligible for the bracket until that process is completed.
