Agree on the "think" part, but I don't think the quizzes should test typing proficiency. In other words, one should have enough time to enter the answers he/she actually knows.

306/345 after maybe my 15th time. this is quite a pointless quiz, but i am enthralled. i find myself missing a few teams that i would normally get. i could easily be up to 320 or so. another thing i've noticed. you don't need to space multiple team names. i.e. robert morris can be entered robertmorris. ha! as soon as i typed that, i expected the name to disappear!

I've been working on this and I can complete the quiz in under 4 minutes without using many abbreviations at all. The best way for me to blast through it without forgetting any was to memorize which state every college is in and go state by state geographically in my mind. Within each state you group things in ways that make sense to you. Take Virginia for instance. Do all the colleges with Virginia in the name first. Then Old Dominion since it's a nickname for Virginia. Then the Rs,

Richmond and Radford, the Ls LIberty and Longwood and the coast cities of Hampton and Norfolk St. Then the names, William and Mary, James Madison, George Mason, George Washington. With practice you can run it pretty quickly that way.

Maybe you misspoke, but 353 answers typed in less than 240 seconds (4 minutes)?? Not possible to both think of all those answers and type them in that time, unless you had a printed list next to you. I agree with most of the people here - needs more time! If you have to type at breakneck speed then it is no longer a trivia quiz, it is a typing test. Trivia is about knowing facts, not about how fast you can type. Unlimited is not an option because you don't get credit towards your level.

Level 84

For those of you who are close, but just can't get those last few, you can shave off some time by combining some answers. Some states have a University of "STATE" and a "STATE" State University. If you're not already doing so, you can type "st" and then backspace and type the "state name". That will give you both answers without having to type the state name twice. Also if there is a direction in the name like east or eastern, you can just type the 1st letter of the direction (e, s, w or n) and the state name (doesn't work for all of them but does for most).

New teams for 2020! Dixie State, Bellarmine, UC San Diego and Tarleton State. Not all of them are eligible for the bracket, but they have been placed in conferences for the 2020 season.

Bellarmine isn't competing at D-1 just yet. That might be 2021-22 season.

Dixie St, UC San Diego and Tarleton are indeed competing in D-1 now.

Dixie St & Tarleton in the WAC

UC San Diego in Big West

Bellarmine is listed in the ASUN standings on the NCAA webpage. Apparently, they compete for four years at the DI level, but aren't eligible for the bracket until that process is completed. So, I would say, based on that, they should be included in this quiz. If you have info to the contrary, by all means share it. I'm just as curious as you :)

For the exact reason there are fourteen in the Atlantic 10, and only 10 in the Big 12.

The name is just a brand at this point, conference realignment happens all the time so the number of teams per conferences fluctuates. The original Big Ten had ten teams, but hasn't had ten since 1991. It still keeps the original name though.

Realignment has been a big headache but Coastal Carolina didn't move back to the Big South, did they? I thought they were in the Sun Belt. And Wichita State didn't leave the American either? It seems as if some of these schools reverted back to their old conferences by accident.

Edit: I'm just going to list out the issues I see..

Wichita State: American, not Missouri Valley

Presbyterian: Big South, not ASUN

Coastal Carolina: Sun Belt, not Big South

Valparaiso: Missouri Valley, not Horizon

Abilene Christian: WAC, not Southland

One last thing: Typing in Indiana is also giving credit for Southern Indiana. I apologize for the length and hope I don't come across too harshly, I just found myself confused while taking the quiz.
