There are some very pedestrian RBs on the right side of this list. It's surprising that successful teams like the Dolphins, Eagles and Patriots have never managed to keep a good 1,500-yard back on the field for more than 4 seasons.

Succesful the dolphins? Not since the 80's.

The pats are more of a pass heavy offense, so they don’t really need a running back

Yet they still hold a 30 year long standing NFL rushing record: the most rushing yards by a team in a season, over 3,150 yards in 1978.

But the rushing offense was so split up between like 4 running backs that it doesn't translate much into the historic performances by ONE HB, but it rather stands more as a testament of the greatness of one of the best O-Line in NFL history, with the superb John Hannah as its leader.

With things being the way it is right now in NFL regarding rushing, I doubt that this record will fall anytime soon, if ever.

I tried typing in both "McCalister" and "McCallister" for the Saints, but alas... (Btw, can you allow those?)

Of all these guys, the one whose team rushing record goes back the furthest is the great Jim Brown. Lifetime average per carry: 5.2 yards. Not too shabby.

Was so confused why Eric Dickerson or Marshall Faulk weren't there...

Because they both played on different teams and don't hold their franchise marks for rushing. Faulk & Dickerson played a fair chunk for the Colts
