One of only two pro (four major sports) athletes with all five vowels in his last name. I've had a few beers so I can't remember who the other one is...
Dug deep within myself and remembered that the other is the football player Osi Umenyiora, who even has the Y, and is therefore the grand slam last name-vowel champion of the universe.
There's only one goalie I could name and I just came here to see if he was on the quiz. He is. Ron Hextall. The only reason I know him is because I used to go to Caps games all the time as a kid- my dad worked for the team. The Caps' biggest rival was the Flyers. When they Flyers came to play the crowd would always chant "Heeextaaall" trying to distract or unnerve their goalie, I guess.
Now that I saw the complete list I think I also knew Kolzig. Didn't he play for the Caps? 2000 sounds right I think it's the same guy I'm thinking of.
I don't feel bad for not remembering Pete Peeters, but I should have had Barasso. I could remember pretty much everything about the guys career, but couldn't come up with his name.
Nobody ever enjoyed a "fluke" victory that didn't try in spite of the odds. They also don't engrave "fluke" on the Stanley Cup. Just the names of the guys who raised it.

For current Detroit Red Wings goalies as of the 2015-16 season
