Dick Sargent isn't DY.

So many american people not known from the rest of the world and, on the other hand, only 11% have answered Deng Xiaoping... what a shame.

I made some changes to make the quiz less U.S. centric. If you can think of specific suggestions for improvements let me know! DI and DU don't have great alternatives.

For DU I'd suggest Dolores Umbridge. I'ts a fictional character, but I think she has a wider worldwide recognition than a baseball player from a local league. And DH should be David Hume.

Only now I realize these initials quizzes dont ask about random names (besides obviously the letter in question) but it goes down the alphabet!

I got it but couldn't spell it.

Oh brother. I thought "Supreme Allied Commander" was some fandom reference I didn't know, like Star Wars or something. SMH.

Oh, no...not just you. I saw DS and disco singer and immediately typed Disco Stu. Then when I saw the part about having number one hits, I actually heard in Disco Stu's voice, "Disco Stu won't work for you!"

That was the first thing that entered my mind and I dont really watch the simpsons, have seen some episodes here and there, but dont follow it

"Lady Chatterley's Lover" - I thought the clue was looking for the name of the lover, not the author.

I did too, at first, then brain kicked into gear.

I still think Xiaoping should be an accepted answer, regardless of Chinese name configuration. All the other answers, you do not need to type in the "D" portion of the answer. This one should be no exception.

Since this quiz is about first names starting with D, Deng Xiaoping shouldn't even be on this list.

For power-hitting 2nd baseman I would rank Rogers Hornsby #1. Also consider Joe Gordon, Ryne Sandberg, Jeff Kent, Bobby Doerr, and contemporary Robinson Cano.

Okay? None of those would work for this quiz, though.

Not all Americans are sports fans, or fans of all American sports. I knew Marino but never heard of Uggla. At least QM threw you a bone with Beckham.

Thinking of a power hitting second baseman with a last name starting with "U" got me thinking of Chase Utley and I never got back on track.

I think I tried typing velesquaz or something.. because I was about to comment that perhaps velasquez could be accepted as a type in. But I tried it (restarted the quiz) to be sure and it was accepted. So I think I mixed up the vowels or something. It didnt take my answers and I gave up, cause it was a hunch anyway..

Was anyone else unaware that there was a remake of War of the Worlds? I was going back decades in my mind, desperately trying to think who it could have been...
