LN is dead. I wonder if he "friend of Shatner" is still a valid clue. It might very well be, but there's something there that kinda bothers me about it.

Didn't Shatner and Nimoy actually despise each other? I think I remember hearing that during the trivia section of "Wait Wait Don't Tell Me."

Oswald was the lone gunman in the book depository. All the other gunmen/CIA agents/assassins were located elsewhere

The only one shooting bullets at JFK that day in Dallas was Oswald. Now, who put him up to it or was behind it...that's a different story. There was no "magic" bullet. There were 3 total shots. All came from the 6th floor of the book depository from Oswald's rifle. What he did, in the time he did it, has been replicated.

Oswald was originally arrested in a Dallas neighborhood for the shooting of police officer J.D. Tippit, based on eyewitness reports and bullet casings picked up at the scene which matched those in the gun found in Oswald's possession when he was arrested in a theater where he fled after the shooting. Only later did police realize he was also the man who shot Kennedy. Conspiracy theorists have never adequately explained for me why Oswald killed Tippit if he was innocent of Kennedy's assassination. As to whether others were involved, like Don I have no idea, but I have no doubt Oswald was the only one who shot Kennedy and Officer Tippit.

The reason that we chose many of these answers is that they are less obscure to the average user than the alternatives. For example, Lance Ito. I know that non-U.S. users will probably not get that one. But there is no one else that I could choose who would be guessed more.

I really don't understand this common complaint. It is an American-based web site. If I was answering quizzes on say a French web site, I wouldn't be complaining that it was too French-centric! I feel like, for an American quiz website, the site maintainers do a pretty good job trying to make it diverse.

Technically, Lee Kuan Yew has the first name "Kuan Yew" with Family name Lee. If anything his initials would be LKY, not a letter less since "Kuan" is the beginning of his first name, not his middle name. Saying this as a Singaporean...

“I only did it cos everyone else was!”

Imagine defending a war criminal with that line!

Pathetic. He had a choice - to cheat and win, or to be honest and probably not win loads of trophies. Bet he wishes he’d chosen differently now, and therein lies the lesson boys and girls…

Honesty is never wrong, and if you have to cheat to win then you haven’t really won.
