Nelson was a small man, just 5ft 4in tall, of slight build and with a weak constitution. He was frequently very ill with recurrent bouts of malaria and dysentery, relics of his time in the tropics, Madras, Calcutta and Ceylon.

At his death [Napoleon] was measured at 5 feet 7 inches (1.70 m). This was average height for French male peasants but was quite short for an officer.

Napoleon was ~ 5'7", taller than the average Frenchman of the time. He appeared shorter because he was often pictured with his elite troops, the Imperial Guards, who were usually much taller.

Well the hand placement and the hat at least seem the same.

I tried Nemo out of desperation, I thought that couldn't possibly be it :-D. This really should be a photo from the movie, but I'm guessing it's a rights issue?

Haha, that's one instance where I way overthink things! This was my thought train: "It's a clownfish! No, can't be... Oh wait, a sea anemone! Nope, doesn't start with N." Then I had a really (I thought) brilliant idea: "What does a clownfish and sea anemone have in common? Well they have a symbiotic relationship! I've got this!" After that my hopes were dashed, and I clicked "give up" only to see they wanted me to type Nemo. Oh well, at least I tried :P

I wrote netherland instead of netherlands, then I wrote northern instead of nordic, THEN I wrote naruhal instead of narwhal, T-H-E-N I wrote nebule instead of nebula. I think I should work on my vocabulary...😅

That nectarine looks a lot like a peach to me. Are they synonyms?

The one in the picture is not fuzzy, which is an indicator that it's a nectarine rather than a peach.

It's hard to guess Nemo on a picture that's not Nemo. Still 70%, but I think you should replace it. Either the picture is too obvious (if it is a Nemo picture,) or remove it! The picture isn't Nemo!

There is this crazy thing that people can do called "inferring" answers.
+1
Level 46
Aug 11, 2018
Nemo is a clownfish, the picture is a clownfish, it is not that far of a stretch to come up with Nemo as an answer, especially considering that 70% of takers are getting to that answer. Correction, now 78% have reached that conclusion.

Especially seeing as ½% would've known what a clownfish was before Nemo came out.

If there were a picture of a living reindeer and you were supposed to guess Rudolph, would that be fine with you too?

Or a picture of a Brown Bear and you're expected to get Paddington?

Of course a certain percentage gets Nemo in the end because there is a lot of time for this quiz, but if for most people it's the third or fourth guess it's not a good clue.

Nemo is the character from the movie Finding Nemo. Not every clownfish is called Nemo just like not every dog is called Pluto. If you really want Nemo as an aswer, at least put an actual (annimated) picture of the character Nemo.

Level 90

For everyone that is complaining about the clownfish, you obviously never had young children who watched the movie. Even though my children are now old enough that they know that Nemo was a character in a movie and he is clownfish, any clownfish they see is immediately called a Nemo. Just like every blue tang is a Dory and every light brown cocker spaniel is a Lady. I imagine most quiz takers in their 60s would immediately say to themselves it's Lassie if they saw a collie.

Level 82

You are correct that not everyone had children in the early 2000s. I imagine you would complain if your Lassie example was included in a similar quiz.

Clownfish in an anemone = Nemo? I had young children who watched and loved "Finding Nemo" as much as I did, but the connection to "N" clues is pretty tangential. This clue could have been worded better.

Why are these quizzes not grouped as a series? A lot more people would take them all. That way it shows a table that shows personal score, i.e., whether or not a person has taken the quiz without clicking through to all of them, etc.

Horatio Nelson was a British admiral. He's pretty famous - he's the one that won the battle of Trafalgar the same battle he was fatally shot at. On his deathbed he is believed to have said 'kiss me Hardy' to his friend and second in command - Thomas Hardy. When he died his body was preserved in brandy until they brought him back to England for a state funeral (the first ever state funeral given to a commoner) and now there's a statue of him on a massive column (Nelson's column) in Trafalgar Square in London. Hope that helps :)
