Who knew that saffron looks so much like a pile of maraschino cherry stems?

The next-to-last picture isn't a socket - it's usually called a ratchet or sometimes a socket wrench. The point is that the picture doesn't show the socket; it shows the part that the socket attaches to. A picture showing the whole assembly, or just a socket, would be better.

I am aware that the object depicted is a socket wrench. Wrench doesn't start with S.

spanner does

"Socket" is the adjective describing the object, a wrench. In this case, "socket" is not an object, person or concept per the instructions. It'd be very fixable by replacing the wrench with an actual photo of a socket or sockets.

Or Photoshop in a dashing Pierce Brosnan in a tuxedo deftly brandishing the wrench as he would a Walther PPK and that'd go a long way to making "spanner" an acceptable answer to all concerned.

But the thing pictured is everything BUT the "socket". The wrench and its ratcheting mechanism are pictured but not a socket attachment. Or at least it should be listed as "Socket Wrench" I suppose?

I agree that the picture is of a "socket wrench" or just a "wrench" (which does not, as pointed out, start with "s"). There is no socket here. Perhaps the instructions could state that the answers can be objects simply "implied" by the pictures?

I have to agree with other comments here. The picture is not a socket. If socket is to be the answer, then you should include a picture of the ratchet with an assortment of sockets. It is a ratchet (or spanner in the UK).

An image of a socket should be shown, not a ratchet.

That item is called a ratchet. It’s used for turning sockets. How is this even up for debate?

I didnt get the stork becaues it doesnt look like a stork to me (eventhough the name crossed my mind, I immediately dismissed it)

This is what a stork looks like for me Stork

I guess the one you picked is what storks look like in africa, the yellow-billed stork

Edit fun fact, the dutch name for the bird you portrayed is nimmerzat (similar in afrikaans and german), which means never full (though zat kan also mean drunk or tired (of something))> Because it sits with its opened bill in the water, expecting fish to swim in ( or so it looks like)

That's not a socket. A socket is what you put on one of those to loosen/tighten a fastener. That is a ratchet, also known as a ratcheting wrench.
