Very tossy! The question doesn't ask for an administrative district. It's clear that the question is asking for the name of the tournament which is also the name of a particular area of London. Why is common sense so lacking on this site?
And the habit of pedantry is known as pedantism - believe me, I know my own faults. pedantism NOUN Pedantic language, attitude, or method; the habit of pedantry.
I tried underground and then counterculture - never heard of Swinging London and I was a teenager in the '60s. But I've never seen an Austin Powers movie, so maybe that was key. Maybe that also explains the Roger Miller hit of the '60s, "England Swings".
Don't forget the Judy Carne sketches on "Laugh-In". It may be rice wine to you, but it's still saki to me - a play on their "sock-it-to-me" catch phrase.
A great quiz, thank you. It is nice to have something a bit different, and this quiz had a good range of questions on different topics and from different eras in history, difficult enough to be a little challenging, but still do-able. Thanks.
Enjoyable quiz. Second time today I've come across the word 'smashing' used in reference to London. Could someone enlighten me as to its hidden meaning - must have one otherwise the question doesn't quite make sense. Not sure if I'm being dense.
Did Bodicea and her people destroy London? She certainly destroyed Colchester to the northeast, slaughtering 30,000 Romans in the process, but I have never heard London also was attacked.
Paris/Rome might be good choices.
