Area 51 is in Nevada. "Alleged UFO crash site" would be better clue for Roswell, NM

Some of these quite easy, others quite hard. Also... it's the "Branch Davidians" not the Brand. Insane cults are a speciality of mine...

Yes, Brand needs to be changed to Branch.

I like how you made a lot of these answers obscure enough I had to think about some of them. Took me a bit to think of Xenia and almost didn't get Zephyrhills.

Hey, is that where xenophobe comes from? The greek word, not the town, obviously..
+2
Level 82
Mar 26, 2018
Yes. From the Greek xenos.. alien, foreigner, or the way "Xenia" was used I guess a closer analogue would be "guest." And phobia of course which come from the Greek word for "fear." Xenia would be welcoming foreigners and Xenophobia would be fear of them.

The Edgar Allan Poe was born in Boston and died in Maryland. Just a friendly suggestion to differentiate.

Yep, Boston was my first response, didn't get Baltimore

Then you were all guessing. If you knew enough about him to know where he was born then you know the city is inextricably linked to.

David Koresh led the Branch Davidians, not the Brand Davidians.

Crap. I knew Tallahasse was the Florida one, but I didn't know it had two Es at the end. I only tried varying the number of Ns and Ses.

Sadly, the only reason I knew Xenia was because of that terrible tornado that ravaged their town in 1974. (Yes, I'm old.)

I was lucky...my sister went to school there, so I knew Xenia...but I didn't think of adding the "hills" to zephyr...and blanked on Kansas City!

Lol, I knew that Zephyr is a word for west wind, but I didn't know how to say hills in like Latin or Greek, so didn't try to answer that question. Turns out it wouldn't have been so difficult.
