The question about the Levant should include at least Lebanon, possibly other countries. The definition doesn't seem to be a clear cut.

Antakya is a part of the Levant. Turkey should be in this quiz.

Whoops. Added Lebanon. I don't think Turkey is considered to be in the Levant. Maybe some small section is. But if you know that, you would also be able to easily name a country that is entirely in the Levant.

Not maybe, Hatay province certainly is in Levant. I agree with the rest though.

The name was not changed until Constantinople was conquered four and a half centuries later. It was called Constantinople much longer than it has been called Istanbul.

Byzantium was not a large Christian city. Constantinople was.

Please, please, please: accept Istanbul and Byzantium. I tried Istanbul and started on Constantinople but then thought, 'No, QM wouldn't be so stupid as to accept one but not the other'. It's the same reason Ceylon is a type-in for Sri Lanka.

The question asks for a Christian city. Maybe Byzantium can be accepted, but I don't think Istanbul would be a good idea.

It was only the large Christian city when it was called Constantinople. I'm sorry to see you accept Istanbul now.

Here's a silly question. It's obvious from reading the comments in this section that you know at least three names for this city. If you know that, you probably have an idea about the time frame for each. Why not just use that more than adequate knowledge to type in the answer that best fits the question in the quiz? Also, I don't think the word "stupid" should ever be used on this site - especially when referring to another person.

Tried "Trash Panda" first, but wasn't surprised it wasn't accepted. Since the raccoon is related to the red panda, there might be more to this argument than meets the eye, but I just tried that answer for fun.

Why did I originally think the Richard I clue meant you had to name an evil king who followed him around. Like mischievously tailed him on his crusades and stuff rubbing his hands together plotting.

Could you accept Arab or Arabic for Arabian? I have not studied my geography in English, and sometimes it is hard to hit it right :)

Using Istanbul for a City in 1000 A.D. does not make sense, since such a city did not exist at this time period. Those who know Istanbul definitely know how it was called in 1000 A.D. even if they might not like it.
