No, Muscovian isn't the same as Muscovite. "Muscovian" refers to someone from Muscovy, which was a principality that included Moscow, but was not synonymous with it.

....Personally I love the general knowledge quizzes.

I'm gonna be a pain in the arse and point out that there's also a city called Tripoli in Lebanon

...sorry!

It should be accepted. I couldn't remember which country it was in, but when I saw Libya I wasn't sure that was quite right. As soon as I saw your comment I remembered that that was the Tripoli I recall knowing of.

Yes, that. Beautiful place with wonderful people. (I'm sure Tripoli, Libya is too, but I've never even met anyone from there.)

As it says in Europe not European, Boeing could be accepted but for the fact that Airbus is currently a larger company anyway. It's one of those questions which could change a lot but the most recent report I've seen is here from Reuters.

You're saying that if, in some way, Boeing were the right answer, it would be right, but it isn't, so it isn't? Thanks for explaining that.

There is also a city in Lebanon called Tripoli, so perhaps that should be an acceptable answer. Either that or rephrase the question to ask which country is Tripoli the capital of?

Level 89
Jul 21, 2018
In other words, you already knew the answer and you're just showing off that you know about the other Tripoli that only stands out because people see it on a map and think, "Huh, I'll be darned" before continuing along to find what they're looking for.

How would you know that he did know the intended answer... his comment does not imply that. Yes at the end he mentions capital, but that could very well be because he looked it up , like what?? there is another city called tripoli? Or, the quiz must be wrong it is not in libya etc

I think the quiz master should add 'particular' or 'specific' to the wording. (IMHO)

I first played this quiz on the 31st March 2022, and scored 10/20.

I have just now replayed it on the 18th October 2023, and scored 11/20.

A pitiful showing? Or a 10% increase in my smarts since last year? You decide!

Also I couldn't spell Arnie's surname then, and I still can't now.
