This quiz is not ridiculous, as it makes me badly want to go to Liberal, KS, Steamboat Springs, CO and Show Low, AZ. Those three towns would not be that high on my travel priority list without this very quiz.

I've been to Show Low. If I remember correctly there was a casino and a ski resort not far away, but if you want a relaxing time in beautiful country where the wolves howl at night, it's a great place. We stayed at Greer, quiet, friendly, and at the "end of the highway" - literally.

Next generation of snow bird migration; people moved from the snow belt to Phoenix and Tucson for warmer climates, and now people retire from those cities for some place actually cooler. And many people like retiring to 'smaller' towns anyway. George Takei has a vacation home there.

Okay, I looked into this. There shouldn't have been any errors since it was generated by a computer program. It seems that Warner Robins was bigger than Macon until Macon absorbed all of Bibb county. So the quiz isn't wrong, just out-dated. This will have to wait until the next time the quiz is updated.
+3
Level 74

Thanks for Macon the time to address my Warnering that one city was Robins another of its rightful place on the quiz. You never know with cartographic data. To be pedantic, as far as I can tell, Warner Robins was still smaller than Macon at the time of the city-county merger, although the gap was closing. Then the Macon-Bibb County merger made Macon the much larger city once again. Which is worse, my puns, pedantry, or population obsession? Only time and the least brutal community of commenters on the internet will tell.

This is easily one of my favorite quizzes. I got 138, which means I was 5 short of getting 2/3 right, so I am kind of kicking myself.

If my brain was absolutely on fire, I could have gotten maybe an additional 15, so slightly less than 3/4 which would be about 160.

My biggest misses were Reno, NV, Port St. Lucie, FL, and Augusta, GA.

At least I was strong on my native state of Mississippi and environs. I got all of the locales in Mississippi, Louisiana, Alabama, and Tennessee right, missing one in Arkansas (Texarkana – kicking myself for missing that one), well, actually, I forgot Dothan, which I am kicking myself over, as well. Going into this quiz, I knew it would be one that I would want to put a good bit of work into to get as many right as possible, but I was doing this about 4:45 am with 600mg of Gabapentin in my system. I thought that if I could control my impulses and wait until I was more awake some time tomorrow or the next day, I would do at least a little better. But I couldn’t help myself, so I didn’t perform as well as I could have. Others I missed that I could have possibly gotten with caffeine instead of gabapentin would have included Syracuse, Erie, Abilene, Sault Ste. Marie (kicking myself over that one as that is where I entered Canada when going there to immigrate for 5 years), Marquette (a wonderful little town I spent an afternoon in and remember as a very highly-rated town to live in), Valdosta, Kalispell, and Hays (had a memorable stopover there when I was on a Greyhound, once).

Anyway…bravo. This quiz was an excellent exercise and good reminder of room for personal improvement.
