Focus on their biggest cities. Most major U.S. cities have a metro area with at least 2 million people. If you know which cities have pro sports teams, that's a good base from which to work. The Atlanta metro area is very large (plus three major sports teams!), so it's a good bet that the Atlanta area alone has over 3 million, which means the state population is probably well over 4 million people. That's the logic I used anyway.
Great quiz, but I take exception with the "wine-growing" question. First, I don't think you can grow wine. Second, if you're talking about producing wine, They've been doing that in what is now the US state of Georgia since the 1600's (or since 1788 if you only go back as far as statehood). That's no 8,000 years, but it still meets the clue's definition.
The question doesn't ask who invented wine, or even who's been making it longer. It just says, "has a long tradition of..." It's poorly worded, and could easily be fixed.
Question N2. I think its a little misleading, because in 2015 in Georgia (Country) was "2015 European Youth Summer Olympics". I understand that it was youth games, bu any way. Here is link from Wikipedia.
I don't imagine they could argue against the United States having hosted, as Wikipedia states about the 1996 Summer Olympics: "These were the fourth Summer Olympics to be hosted by the United States". In addition, Atlanta is called the host city, not the host.
I'm pretty sure that the English name for the country is also named after one of the Georgian kings named George (the country calls itself Sakartvela btw)
I'm from Georgia (country) and I'm happy to see my country in this quiz here, thanks a lot.
By the way the authentic name of my country is Sakartvelo.
Georgia ,the name was called by greeks,it means-an agricultural country. Not a King's name. (Geo- The Earth in Greek)
Georgia has one of the world's oldest language and alphabeth. (საქართველო,თბილისი)
Georgia is also considered the homeland of wine, honey, wheat and fibres.
There was an ancient civilization here. Country is located in the Caucasus, between Europe and Asia and was often invaded by different empires: Mongols,Arabs,Persians,Turks,Russians.
By now 20% of Georgia is occupied by Russia.
There are Europe's highest mountains (over 5000 m ) ,The black sea, beautiful landscapes, grottos, lakes, natural reserves, mineral waters and very delicious Georgian traditional cuisine.
Georgian food is great, except for those greasy bread bowl things with the lake of butter in the middle. Those are inedible. Everything else though.. delicious!
Probably should have been more explicit on the "founded in 1933" just because people may think ( including me ) that the state of Georgia not the colony.
