Could be a bit of a stretch referring to Exmouth, Broome, Kalgoorlie and Mildura as "cities". And although I can imagine people from outside Australia having trouble with this quiz, I'm surprised only 70% of people have got Melbourne correct.

Impossible. If you knew all except one, by process of elimination, you would get the last one!
+1
Level 18

Probably meant that out of the list, Mildura was the one he didn't know where it was located. obviously got it as it's the last one.

Knowing them and getting ( guessing) an answer correctly are two completely different things

Hobart's more well known than miserable Melbourne. Fascinating!
+4
Level 66
Oct 24, 2018
I wouldn't say "well known" Hobart is easy to remember because it is on an island. People might confuse Melbourne with Sydney.

I only got two correct but received five points. (Missed two I should have gotten.) That's a sad representation of how little many of us know about Australia. But I kept trying and on the third try got them all.

Brisbane right on the border of NSW is inaccurate. Dot needs moving..
+2
Level 14
Mar 14, 2017
It is in the correct position, its only a 30minute drive from the NSW border to Brisbane which is above the Gold Coast
+2
Level 54
Apr 1, 2017
Errr...no it's not. Google Maps says it's 1 hour 13 minutes from Brisbane to Tweed Heads (on the border with New South Wales) & in my experience it's often longer than that due to traffic. Yes, I live in S-E Queensland.
+1
Level 66
Jan 16, 2020
Usually it takes about an hour to drive from Brisbane to the Gold Coast, and at peak hour add another half hour at least. To Tweed Heads I'd say an hour and a half, usually.

It is on the border of NSFW?
+1
Level 71

As the crow flies Brisbane is 86 km from the NSW border. Rockhampton is about 605 km from the same border, I would say the dot is just about correct.

The peninsula that Exmouth is on is under the dot, exactly where it's marked on the map.

Got them all with 2:55 remaining at 4:55:55 PM on February 6, 2019, increasing my point total by 5 points, from 766 to 771. I was able to figure it out because I know the locations of the big ones, capitals plus those of Alice Springs, Cairns, Rockhampton, Broome, Kalgoorlie, and that the eastern side of Australia is higher, which gave a context clue for Mount Isa. Lucky guesses for Mildura and Exmouth finished it off.
