Yay, nice quiz. One suggestion though, you get the Zeus' wife answer for free because the monster-killer answer appears first. If you switch their placement that would help prevent this.

Alternatively switch the Hera clue to the other Greek Mythology quiz.

This seems like largely a repeat of https://www.jetpunk.com/quizzes/figures-from-greek-mythology-quiz

Those darn ancient Greeks are just not coming up with anything new and quizworthy.

Oedipus Rex is the "English" title of Sophocles' play, his name was just Oedipus. Rex is a Latin word anyway ...

Just two weird little tidbits of info. In Ancient Greek Kerberos, the name for Cerberus at the time, meant spotted. And in Ancient Latin Cerberus means fluffed. So the god of the Underworld, depending on which iteration you use, either called his three headed guard-dog, Fluffy or Spot.

Once again, JK Rowling's knowledge and wit amazes me. Fluffy was the name of Hagrid's three-headed dog that guarded the Philospher's Stone. I just thought it was a joke because the dog/dogs were so violent.

The greek etymology is just one of many postulated explanations, and a questioned one at that. As for the latin one, I can't find any information on it, only that Cerberus is the latinized form of Kerberos, which makes sense as that is common.

So much for Rowling's "wit". That this passes for scholarly knowledge these days says a lot of our society.

Fun fact/annoying nitpick, but ACKSHUALLY, Pandora opened a jar, not a box. It was mistranslated as "box" probably in the 16th century by Erasmus.

Should be "Who found the golden fleece" not "Who tried to find the golden fleece" Jason actually found it. Nice quiz!

I recently(when I mean recently, this was about 6 months ago) read a book about greek mythology and it was about Prometheus, although, I just gave up seeing the first few questions so I didn’t get that one

Polyphemus should also be accepted for Cyclops, as it's the creature's actual name.
