Remember when Mall of America was the largest mall in the U.S. and 2nd largest in the world? Now it's only #2 in America and doesn't even crack the top 20 worldwide.

I live right near King of Prussia mall, and I'm pretty sure it's one of the biggest in the country.

Yes, one of. Third, to be exact. Two spots behind Mall of America, and just under half the size. Not sure why this is relevant information to post here.

I know it's all a matter of taste but I think they are overrated. This coming from an apple farmer...such a pain to grow, but the amount of money I get for them is great. Try a Wild Twist if you can find one in your area.

Small detail: it should read "in the contiguous US," not "continental US." Alaska is on the North American continent, thus is part of the continental US, but does not touch any other state so is therefore not part of the contiguous US.

Not that it needs to be in this quiz, but Minnesota has a unique oddity - a little peninsula called the Northwest Angle that can only be accessed by road by first crossing into Manitoba. That is, except for now - an ice road has been built, due to covid-related travel restrictions.

Washington has one too. Didn't know about Minnesota until it made the news recently and I looked it up on a map.
+4
Level 64
Feb 8, 2021
Minnesota has the Northwest angle because when the treaty was written to define the border between Canada and the US, it was defined by the course of certain rivers, but at the time, nobody was quite sure where they went.

The clue about the northernmost lake incorrectly identifies it as the northernmost point in the "continental" US. It should read "contiguous" US. There are lots of points farther north in Alaska. All of them, in fact.
