I thought a prairie dog was the same as a gopher or groundhog.

similar but no. Gophers are smaller than prairie dogs which are in turn smaller than groundhogs.

Nope! I was curious so I just double checked, and although they are all related, they aren't the same!

Groundhogs are the largest (somewhere between 4-13 lbs and 16-26 inches long) and live mostly in the plains and forest edges in eastern US and northern Canada. They're diurnal, and they're also considered one of the largest and most solitary marmot species.

Gophers are smallest (.5 lbs and only 6-8 inches) and are mostly solitary outside of breeding season. They spend most of their lives underground and in moist soil, which makes them agricultural pests. I actually found conflicting info on whether they were nocturnal or not, most sources said they were active at all times of the day.

Prairie dogs are somewhere in the middle size-wise (about 2 lbs and 12-16 inches) and live mostly in the Great Plains areas of the continent. They're diurnal, but decidedly *not* solitary.

Thanks for sending me down this rabbit, uh, prairie dog hole of research!

Huh. I thought gophers weren't real, because I've only ever heard of them in the movie Caddyshack. XD

I was hoping to see "Morganna the Kissing Bandit" on here, but that would certainly result in the quiz being labeled too US-centric.

Jill Sobule first recorded a song called "I Kissed a Girl", and in her song, she liked it too. Not as big a hit, but 13 years later, Katy Perry released the almost identical song written by some record company guys, including the same guy who signed Sobule first-- not exactly a coincidence. Maybe to honor Sobule, who wrote her original version of the song, she should be an accepted answer.

Almost identical...? I just listened to the song and, aside from the title, they're entirely different. Regardless, given that Katy Perry's song includes the actual lyrics "I kissed a girl and I liked it," it should be pretty obvious who the clue is referring to.

Grabower also makes kisses. Kisses are a generic type of confection. Hershey happens to be one of the companies that make them (admittedly the most famous).

I reckon for the European one 'air' should be allowed as well as cheek as most people do not in fact kiss the cheek - just kind of towards it. And many people would refer to this as an air kiss

Just curious - I got one wrong, which 27% also got wrong. So by my math I did at least as well as 73% of the quiz takers, and yet the stats say I only did as well as 68.2%. Why the discrepancy? Or am I thinking about this wrong?

Yeah! How can 31% of quiz takers get all of them right if the worst % on a question is only 57%? Is it because the percentile rank only counts the first attempt? That would mean people are doing the quiz again and doing even worse on those questions!

Is this satire? 31% of people got them all right because you only have to miss any ONE question to not get them all right, not specifically the least-known answer. There's no contradiction.
