how about accepting Bundes League?
+40
Level 41
Oct 13, 2015
That would be unfortunate, since it is a strange half-baked translation. I would be very much for accepting Federal League, which is English for Bundesliga. But your proposal suggest that it is a league called Bundes, which is not true.

How about accepting any of the seven ways I misspelled it before giving up? :)

Nice quiz! :) Can you please also accept "Rhein" for "Rhine"? The first one is the German spelling of the name.

Same problem. Put Rhein instead of Rhine.
+3
Level 77
May 15, 2014
Rhein.. and rein and so on. And Elbe and Main and Donau/Danube. Also tried Keiser because of the German pronunciation. AAAARGH! I accept I didn't know Reichstag and Weimar (well didn't remember), but that damn river!

Been meaning to do the same thing, but there's nowhere good to do so. Only wish for a bit more transparency about the number of points required to get to the next level, but otherwise VERY happy with the way it's been implemented.

Bratwurst is a type of sausage, whereas wurst is just sausage in general. Easy mistake to make, though.

still think bratwurst should be accepted; given that its the most internationally known word associated with german sausage
+20
Level 59
Mar 28, 2017
Why on earth should bratwurst be accepted? The question is asking for the German word for sausage, not the most internationally famous type of sausage. Will you all stop asking for answers that don't answer the question!

Yea that would like (in a quiz in another language) asking for the english word for meat and wanting them to accept hamburger, because that is what america is known for. That is irrelevant and not the word for meat.

Bratwurst literally means fried sausage. So if you know Bratwurst, then getting "Wurst" is just a small step. Again, keep it simple.

Hey i just asked myself if you could accept ''D Mark/D-Mark'' for Deutsche Mark. Most people i've heard in my own country (Germany) refer to it as that (as an abbrevation) rather than the full Name :) (though i think most people KNOW the full name)

The question about the title of the prime minister may be misleading. You may want to consider asking for title for the head of government as there is no such thing as a prime minister at federal level.

Its not nonly Bundestag. It's Bundesrat too. To a certain extant Bundesversammlung is also part of it.
+1
Level 68
Aug 18, 2022
Nah, I'd disagree there. Of course the Bundesrat is a legislative body and therefore a part of the German democracy, but it represents the 16 Bundesländer on a federal level and isn't part of the parliament. The Bundesversammlung is also not a part of the parliament, I mean you would never call a member of the Bundesversammlung automatically a Member of parliament as well, would you?
