I mean, it only requires changing the "sm" to an "nz", but I'm not sure how you'd manage that.

Since Tazmania is an accepted type-in, my guess is that they hit z first due to typing too fast, then accidentally hit m instead of n, which are two adjacent keys.

In 1988, a Pakistani cricketer flew to Tanzania to begin his career with the Tasmanian team. Blamed his travel agent.

A bit Franco-centric...but since many quizzes are US-centric it's not necessarily a bad thing.

What are you talking about? There are only 4 questions about France here, same for the USA. I think the quiz was fine!

France and the USA definitely make up 40% of the world's geography

I agree only missed two questions and both were about regions of France.

Surprised the average score is so low. There are a few tricky questions, but normally people on here are smart/geeky enough to know them.

Face palmed on not getting the Kremlin.

Count inner Manchuria or Heilongjiang because I was stuck putting those 2 in

The clue for Corsica is a bit misleading. Yes, it is a region of France, but it is also an island; could be a bit more specific.

Level 70

Prince Edward Island is also an island and I don't see anyone saying that is misleading. What are you talking about? If the question said "which country's capital is Havana?" I don't think you would be saying it was misleading because Cuba is an island.

Level 37
Aug 14, 2019
^ Exactly! Cuba is an island, France isn't. There are many regions on mainland France, so the Corsica question could be misleading if one doesn't make the connection to Napoleon. (By the way, I got the correct answer, so this is not me whining because I didn't get it).

But Corsica is still a region of France so why is it misleading?
+4
Level 80
Feb 1, 2022
It should also be noted that what constitutes as "Corsica" the Region of France and "Corsica" the island is different, there's a few additional, albeit small, islands, all of which are part of the land governed by the capital in Ajaccio, like the "Îles Sanguinaires", for example.

So it's far from misleading, but rather necessary, to call it a region, rather than just an island, in this case.

If the quiz asked "of which US state is Honolulu the capital?" would that also be misleading?

Island status is completely irrelevant to the question.

How sad. Quizmaster thinks that everything on Wiki is true, despite all evidence to the contrary. I lived in France, never heard city of light for Paris. You should hear what the Bretons call it. Not on Wikipedia

Water flows downhill, therefore it ends in Louisiana. It starts flowing in Minnesota.
