Well if you were supposed to be so stoned in the 60's you couldn't remember the 60's there's no way you'd remember who originally said it either.

It's true. My mind is a muddle from about mid '67 to '70.

Sadly, though, the reason now is because if you lived in the '60s your memory is slowly leaking out of all the eroded holes in your brain. Ask me how I know.

I only got 11. There were 9 more I had heard of, but couldn't think of. There were about 12 groups I don't really know.

I was 6, and got 19/32. Only one I'm kicking myself for missing is the Grateful Dead...

I always thought the who's who of the music world was at Woodstock but after only getting five of the obvious ones I just started guessing most of the biggest names at that time and they weren't there. So, as is usual for nostalgia, Woodstock's hype is bigger than it's reality. Just a bunch of drugged up idiots too stoned to get out of the rain and mud.

Not every act is in the quiz.

Maybe you are disappointed in not seeing more British acts as there were only three. But they were great: The Who, Joe Cocker and Ten Years After ("Going Home" was terrific).

It's too bad Joni Mitchell didn't make it. She saw some of it on TV and wrote the classic "Woodstock" while watching.

Sorry my generation disappointed you.

Please, pray tell, who was there that was not listed in the quiz? Because you said this, I googled the line up and am not seeing one act as being left out.

If you were around at that time you'd know that there are many, many monster names there--as this quiz clearly proves.

First, there are plenty of monster names on the list. Second, the experience was about more than just the bands. Music festivals are a dime a dozen these days, but Woodstock was unique when it happened. It was also a rare chance for the country's counter-cultural movement to come together in one place at a time when keeping contact with people cross-country was not easy. Finally, the story of how the whole thing came together is very interesting, particularly the story of Max Yasgur, the owner of the farm where the festival was held. I agree that the boomers tend to overstate the importance of everything that ever happened to them, but Woodstock was much more than just "look at lineup."

Great quiz. I was a child of the '60s, but I never heard of some of these. I looked them up, and I'm guessing it's because the radio stations in my area didn't play much hard rock. At least one, Quill, was listed as a band that played in the northeast and mid-Atlantic states so I don't feel bad about missing that one, but there were way too many I missed that I should have gotten.

Wait, Skippy, let's start over. Is there a band on stage?

Yes.

Does that band have a name?

Yes.

Do you know the name of the band?

Yes!

So tell me the name of the band on stage.

Who.

The name of the band.

Who.

The band on stage!

Who!

The band playing on stage!

Who!

That's what I wanna know!

I'm telling you!

Who is on stage?

Yes.

Who is?

Yes.

Oh, so the name of the band is Yes.

No Aunt Slappy, Yes isn't even at this concert!

Then who is on stage?

Yes!

Who is?

Yes!

That's what I just said, Yes is on stage.

No, Yes is not here, Who is on stage!

What are you asking me for?

I'm not!

Wait. Let's try this again! Do you see the band on stage?

No I don't see The Band, that's a different group entirely!

Not too worried about the 69 Woodstock lineup, what about quizzes about the superior Woodstocks? 94, 99?
