Guess I'm being picky, but Magenta isn't pale.

If we're being picky then mauve is more of a pink than purple color.

Wiki (so it must be true): "Magenta is variously defined as a purplish-red, reddish-purple, or a mauvish-crimson color"

The interesting facts say magenta is not even a official color

Magenta seems to work here. I'm no color expert and I just looked up some examples of magenta and there are some versions that seem to be pale purple.

I thought of maroon for the purple color, but the word was already used. I agree that mauve is more of a pink, but I got it anyway. I figured that people perceive colors differently.

Could you accept manna for the unleavened bread?
+10
Level 65
Nov 5, 2012
Manna is the word for the food, provided by God to the Israelites, that fell from the sky every morning. Unleavened bread is the word for bread made without yeast. They are two very different things.

Yeah I'm sure if god was going to cook up something for you it would at least have yeast in it.

I mean, what's the point of being omnipotent if you can't even get your hands on some G.D. yeast!

I kept thinking mana, too, but as others have said, we don't know what mana actually was, from the Biblical description. All we really know is that it was magical food that God sent for the Jews to eat on their journey.

As a side note, the term "mana," which is used as "magic points" in many role-playing games, comes from the Polynesian word meaning something akin to "magical power."

Interesting that "mana," in both the Jewish and Polynesian contexts, have supernatural connotations!

Also, Menengitis is transferable via mosquitos.

Almost all diseases can be transferred by a mosquito. However, malaria is the disease most people think of when talking about mosquitos.

An autobiography and memoir are not actually the same thing. An autobiography usually tells about a person's entire life, while a memoir details a specific time or experience in that life.

Ah, good point. That's why they say, "He's writing his memoirs," plural.

I do think "memoir" works, but it's not a great fit.

Got all but metronome, pretty proud :) (not my language). I was thinking of, well a timekeeping music device/musicmaking timekeeping device and couldn't get musicbox out of my head.

If it was written as a device to keep time (used) in music, I would have gotten it. Because I don't think a metronome is very musical, it only has one sound ;) kind of monotonous too haha

A king or queen is not necessarily a monarch. He or she is only a monarch if they reign ALONE over one country. For example a tetrarch is a king who rules along with three others, etc..

I kept trying majesty for king or queen. Couldn't think of monarch because I really thought the answer should be majesty
