Europe Capitals Mystery Route
Trace the mystery route that passes through 16 European capitals, on a blank map.
Guess each visited capital, from the starting point to the finish flag.
At each capital found, the next portion of the route is revealed.
Stats are correct: some players have just guessed the capital city under the finish flag without having guessed those before on the route. That's all :)
Perhaps, particularly given current events, the primary spelling of the capital of Ukraine should be changed to Kyiv (while still accepting Kiev as an alternative)
For most of my quizzes I've decided to follow JetPunk standards. In this particular case, English version of the Ukrainian capital is commonly used with Kyiv spelling accepted in type-ins. That seems reasonable to me for the English section of the site.
Bucharest is not accepted on the browser on my mobile. Also, I think Andorra should be accepted for Andorra La Vella like Trinidad, Antigua, Congo etc.
I got so stuck on Andorra, I always try/fail to remember its brilliant explanation on Wikipedia:
"Andorra la Vella means "Andorra the Town", to distinguish it from the Principality of Andorra as a whole."
Interestingly, in Spanish (and French apparently) it's incorrectly called "Andorra the Old" (... la Vieja /... la Vielle) due to a misunderstanding. Funny how the Spanish and French didn't get the Catalan name right! Although their "incorrect" name seems rather charming.
Anyway, nice quiz, it's genuinely one of my all-time favourites, but could I request an official QM comment as to why "Andorra" isn't accepted as a type-in for the capital? The capital's name literally is "Andorra" - giving its name to the "country" carved out for some reason by someone a long time ago - only getting the suffix "la vella" as a clarification.
As you have noticed, the capital names used in this quiz and all the Mystery Routes series are based on official JetPunk type-ins, so that users that are use to take World Capital dont get confused here. Concerning the capital of Andorra, the present English section follows exactly the same rule as other sections which seems fair enough to me and respect the history of this erroneous name.
If you like the Europe Capitals, don't forget to try the randomize version here! Good luck!
Kiev has a higher percentage than Warsaw.
That's impossible because whoever guessed kiev correct also guessed warsaw correct
