Maybe swap round the "Doublethink" and "Doubleplusgood" questions, given that typing the latter gives you the former?

I haven't read the book, but, I don't think the "Who country does the book take place in?" question does not make much sense

One of my favourite books of all time, so I was pretty disappointed to miss 5 of the answers (including the main character's name - I just drew a total blank on it!). I think I need to re-read it...

I memorized it instantly as my discovery that Churchill didn't have a unique name :)

I agree with Tramp, except that is my favourite book of all time. Besides the main plot, it was a brilliant idea to amend the language to make it harder or even impossible to express certain thoughts and thus harder actually to think them.

Nice quiz. I read it when I was 15, which was in 1983. Most of the answers came to me but I couldn't get the 2% question. Obviously I had to do the quiz again to get them all right.

Always has been, always will be.

Orwell did humanity a huge favor with this novel, which is easy to understand and gives people a shared lexicon they can use to recognize and label the common tactics of fascists.

It really is amazing how much of this novel has worked its way into the common parlance. Annoying, almost, how often people refer to something as "1984," but Orwell certainly made his point.

I got 10/18. I think that's pretty good for someone who's only read about five pages of the book. It's on my ever growing To Be Read list.
