Cities of Los Angeles County on a Map
Los Angeles County is home to more than ten million people, the vast majority of which live in 88 incorporated cities. How many of these cities can you name?
I used to live in LA County and when I had time to kill in my car I'd just sit and flip through the Thomas Guide and marvel at all the different communities, roads, etc., there were. Such a smorgasbord of big, small and in-between cities and towns.
I'd love to see you do one for other major counties like Riverside, San Bernardino, San Diego, Orange, etc. :-)
I grew up in Los Angeles, so the county has a special place in my heart.
With regard to the other counties – I feel as if Los Angeles County was suitable because of the density and how often, when driving on a motorway (freeway), one will see the various city names. I'm not so sure the inland counties would be as familiar, but I'll do some investigating!
I don't think I'd ever looked at a municipal map of the Los Angeles area before, it's fascinating! I didn't do very well, but I enjoyed it. Great quiz!
Great quiz, and great map! I've lived in LA County for 5 years, but I only got 38 my first try. I mostly know the 210 corridor, the Valley, and the Hollywood area, so a lot of the cities to the south and southeast I have trouble remembering. By the way, can you accept "City of Industry" for Industry? It often appears on maps that way.
6 mi (10 km) ATCF from the county line to downtown Anaheim. When you drive south on the 5 freeway there's a huge lit-up monument letting you know you've gone past the Orange Curtain.
I did remarkably badly (36/88) considering I grew up just east of LA county and recognized every single name, once I saw them. (I also never realized that Hacienda Heights wasn't a city.) This quiz made me recall my high school Spanish teacher, who was disgusted by the name La Puente. "It's EL Puente!" he would say.
Great quiz - one that pretty much anyone in the world should be able to get at least half a dozen on, given how many movies and TV shows are set there.
Bless you and this quiz, I don't think I can state enough how much I love this quiz.
This is unusual to say, but this quiz has brought me a lot of joy. I've spent countless hours looking at maps (esp of LA) and taking quizzes on here without an account, and by far my favorite are the ones with Los Angeles cities. I've wanted a map quiz for soooo long.
I literally made an account an hour ago and spent the next hour taking random quizzes here to get to a LVL 15, just to comment and give you my thanks for all this hard work. I've dreamed of a quiz like this for over a year, haha. Many thanks, cheers, muchas gracias, and so on!
This is quite the effusive comment! I am very glad that this quiz is just what you were looking for. Part of why I make quizzes is because I make the quizzes that I would like to take, so I can empathise with your desire to see particular quizzes come to fruition. Be well!
