I stopped at the second question in shock. Biden has not been elected president...yet. The process is ongoing and incomplete. I am not a republican or Trump lover, the question and answer are both simply incorrect.

Its over. The electoral college already certified. All that's left is for Congress to certify which is just a formality. It's over Biden won.

Biden has not yet been inaugurated... but he has most certainly been elected.

Level 62

From the future... now Biden has been inagurated.
+38
Level 68
Dec 27, 2020
What part of the process is incomplete? Biden has been elected the 46th president of the United States. Trump will not sit a second term.
+3
Level 60
Dec 29, 2020
Both congress AND the current VP (Pence) need to certify that the electoral college votes are both legitimate and uncontested. And given that Texas' lawsuit was dropped by the Supreme Court due to lack of standing (that is to say, the court accepted that the evidence in their claim was legitimate and warranted investigation, they just felt that Texas did not have the right to make the claim in the first place), enough of the votes are either illegitimate, or under contention, that Biden's inauguration may not happen. And if it doesn't, that means Trump WILL serve his second, and final, term as president.
+5
Level 79
Dec 29, 2020
Biden became presdient-elect after a majority of credible news outlets projected he had won enough states to reach the 270 electoral votes needed. His election victory was further affirmed on 14 Dec when the Electoral College cast their votes directly in line with the projected electoral vote counts, with not a single faithless elector. The certification by Congress (and the Vice President) is mainly ceremonial. If it weren't, one would doubt that John C. Breckinridge (who later became a Confederate general), opponent of Abraham Lincoln in the 1860 election, would have formally announced Lincoln as the electoral college winner when Congress met in 1861.
+5
Level 66
Dec 30, 2020
even if the election was somehow declared illegitimate, neither Biden or Trump would be president as there is no immediate qualification, Trump's 1st term ends on January 20th.

Since a declaration of an illegimate presidential election would mean that both the POTUS and VPOTUS positions are empty, the Speaker of the House would become president (a.k.a Nancy Pelosi)

Level 89
Dec 28, 2020
You're confusing being elected with being inaugurated. Biden most certainly has been elected, both by the American citizens and the electoral college. Congress will certify the election on January 6 and then he will be inaugurated on January 20.

After deleting several obnoxious comments from both sides of the political spectrum...

The facts are what they are. No new information is being presented in this thread. The quiz will not be changed. There is no need for further comments.

Always remember this: no one ever made the world a better place by being a jerk on the internet.

Level 79
Dec 29, 2020
Biden has been projected by all credible news outlets to have won the election (which is the method used in the United States to project winners in elections), and furthermore the Electoral College itself cast their votes on 14 Dec that affirmed Biden's victory, with not a single faithless elector. 'In shock?' Do you intend to wait until 6 Jan, when Congress certifies the election results, or until 20 Jan, when Biden is inaugurated? Possibly you are confusing the word 'elected' with 'inaugurated'.
+7
Level 67
Dec 31, 2020
It's also worth adding that there is a misconception floating around the internet that Pence can derail Biden's election. This is wrong. The vice president's role on January 6 is purely ministerial. The act authorizing him (the Electoral Count Act) states only that he is the one who counts the votes and announces the winner. Nothing in the act or anywhere else gives him the power to change the result. He's like a news anchor: he reports the final score. He doesn't get to go back and change the outcome of the game. Once the electoral votes are certified and submitted (which they have been), it's done. This thing is over. Sewn up. Finito. Joe Biden will be president on January 20, and there is absolutely nothing -- nothing -- that will keep Trump in power by any legal or legitimate means. This is not a political commentary. It is a statement of law. If Pence tries to subvert Biden's victory, expect a 9-0 Supreme Court opinion rejecting the attempt in short order.

Be a Philly sports fan and remove all doubt you're a decent human being: throw snowballs at Santa, cheer with glee when rivals suffer career-ending injuries on the field, or simply throw batteries at players who return playing for a different team. Woe be unto China if they ever attempt to invade southeastern Pennsylvania --- they should stick to skirmishes in the Himalayas and South China Sea.

So you mention a Korean movie and rock-throwing Indians but you don't mention the Beirut blast which had over 200 people killed, over 7,000 people injured and left over 300,000 people homeless? You don't even acknowledge the fact that this explosion (3rd biggest ever, largest one in 21st century and non-nuclear) was a product of corruption and Iranian occupation but you mention a Korean movie and rock-throwing Indians? 20 Indian Lives were lost in Galwan and so were 43 Chinese ones. It could've been worse if Modi and Xi didn't arrive at peace negotiations. Nothing Uneventful about that. It wasn't just Stones, it was Batons, and Make-shift weapons as well.

China crossed the Galwan river to try and capture Indian Weapons and Destroy Infrastructure . When a country encroaches on another country for military action it is considered to be an invasion(though they did it in a somewhat more friendly fashion than the way it is usually done). That is exactly what China did(According to Wikipedia.)

Though I agree Beirut should be mentioned.
