I mean there are multiple answers to a number of questions, but it's about the only remaining country and Oman is already gone by the second last question.

Fantastic series! Just to clarify things for me, Qatar's maroon flag is considered red?
+6
Level 86
Jan 6, 2019
Yes, I consider maroon to be a shade of red. I figured there would probably be arguments no matter which way I went on that one, but counting it as red feels more right to me.

These are good suggestions. I've thought about adding maps to my quizzes previously, but I have never done so. Hopefully one of these days I will stop being lazy and spend some time figuring out how it works.

Having the map is great, thanks, @cornflakesfu. It would be even better if you could have the map stay on the screen while the answer boxes scrolled up.

Good quiz, by the way—tricky, but good!

It's been a while, but I *think* "rainforest" was based on this map, which was the source for the "Tropical Rainforest Countries" quiz.

Addressed the issues raised by WolfCam and FactoFanatic (thanks for the feedback!). Fixing Syria was a big pain (thanks a lot, Man Assad!), but I got it eventually. Also adjusted one or two other clues that were somewhat questionable in the process.
+1
Level 84
Aug 22, 2021
For the future you need to think of other clues for China and South Korea. Maybe switch the positions and do "that has a city which hosted both summer and winter olympics" and then "which hosted both summer and winter olympics".
+1
Level 86
Aug 22, 2021
Yup, I'm aware. I'll cross that bridge when we come to it. At this point a cancellation/rescheduling of the 2022 Winter Olympics seems unlikely, but I'm not sure we can take anything for granted at this point.
+1
Level 71
Nov 6, 2021
Yeah, I would recommend fixing it now. The Beijing Olympics are being held under very secure conditions, and there's no way China will back out. Also, it looks like this quiz will almost certainly be featured, and it'd be annoying if there has to be a reset in a just few months because of that change. I'm sure you can think of plenty of other clues for South Korea and China :)

Anyways, great quiz!

Level 86

While that is true, there's usually one or two issues that get unearthed whenever a quiz like this is featured that will need to be fixed anyway. I think I'll just address this (I already know what I will do) at the same time.

Just a bit unsure about the question " To have an 8-letter sequence in its name without an A, E, I, O or U" and the answer is Kyrgyzstan but there is an "a" in Kyrgyzstan.
+6
Level 86
Oct 28, 2021
The "8-letter sequence" is K-Y-R-G-Y-Z-S-T. The point is not that the country name doesn't use any of the "traditional" vowels at all, but rather that it has an unusually long stretch of letters without using any of them.

Just a suggestion: to make it easier to track what countries you've eliminated, if you're using a desktop/laptop, open the quiz in 2 separate windows. Use one to page-down to reveal each chunk of questions. Use the other to take the quiz, keeping the map in focus.

Timor-Leste is 10 letters and still an option at the 9 letters or more clue
+1
Level 86
Jan 24, 2022
1. It's "more than 9 letters", not "9 letters or more"

2. The official Jetpunk name of the country (according to the Countries of the World quiz) is "East Timor"

+1
Level 86
Jan 25, 2022
. . . on the other hand, I've just remembered that the actual answer to that clue is a lot more than 9 letters long, so it'd be pretty easy to change. I'll consider doing that as I ponder a solution to the upcoming Malaysia problem mentioned above.

Looking back through the comments, I see two asking for more time (including this one), one asking for less time, and one saying the time limit is exactly right.
