I have a CT version here https://www.jetpunk.com/user-quizzes/128933/towns-of-connecticut and a RI version here https://www.jetpunk.com/user-quizzes/128933/towns-of-rhode-island
I call shenanigans that 19% know Sandisfield or Colrain, or several dozen others. I live here and I've never heard of them! I could get just over a third of them and it's good enough for 2 points.
I agree, I'm from Mass and had to rack my brain to get almost half of them for only 3 points, still missed Natick tho how embarrassing. People are just googling names and skewing the results. 25 percent of people knew my little town, yet I don't think 25 percent of people in Boston have even heard of it, let alone 25 percent of people all around the world.
I don't find it that much a stretch. I knew Colrain because I stayed at a B&B there for our third anniversary. Sometimes we remember places for odd reasons, like I only just learned of Florida and Peru even though I'm MA "born and bred," but I'm not likely to forget them because they're unique. Athol and Lenox are similar. Never been there, but won't forget. Anything with a "-field," "-ville," "-ton," "-port," "-ford," "-borough," etc.
We have actually been to 349 of these towns. Every town in the state except for Nantucket and Gosnold. We hunt for geocaches, and there is a challenge in place where the goal is to find a geocache in every town. On this quiz, I scored 126/351 and I had fun. Thanks for the quiz!
I say 72 isn't bad for a West Coaster, although I do have a slight advantage over other Californians having been to Massachusetts and an unhealthy obsession with Fallout 4
This quiz was so hard, that I had to get my friend to help me, he got 90 percent of the answers right because he is like a nerd but in a nice way. At one point I stopped and just started making fun of stupid names of the towns like "Florida" or "Plainville" Overall great job with this quiz.
edit: got 189
TBF, some are really hard to guess without using Google
P.S. I'm shocked 22% of people who played this know about my town
