A lot of these cities have military significance. Da Nang, Inchon (or Incheon? as I understand it's also spelled), Geneva, Kandahar, Pyongyang, and Vientiane all have had some type of battle or conflict there. (In Geneva's case, an antiwar agreement.)
Really, people get San Pedro Sula.... It's not hard to get, btw 100% and please try my quizzes. I have a question, some sources call Taiwan as China... Would you count China as a acceptable answer as well....
Taiwan only refers to themselves that way when they have to by international treaty, such as on manufacturing country-of-origin labels, or the Olympics.
Try my quiz --> https://www.jetpunk.com/user-quizzes/156455/cities-with-the-highest-homicide-rates. I need to update it though. San Pedro Sula has dropped down the list somewhat now. It is unfortunate to be a kind of a bus stop for Colombian cartels moving drugs north to the USA. But apparently a number of community groups in conjunction with the police have put in a lot of work in poorer neighborhoods to keep teenagers out of gangs and the drug trade, so the homicide rate has dropped considerably.
Is that a coincidence?
Incheon (Inchon) - Location of massive amphibious landing in the Korean War
Geneva - The Geneva Convention
Kandahar (Qandahar) - A battleground during the Afghan war until 2021
Pyongyang - Capital of the DPRK and a heavy battleground during the Korean War
Vientiane - Capital of Laos, though I don't know of its significance
I got 100% ;)
I wonder where the users of this site are from lol
Being American I’m always used to listing our cities with our states, rather than with the country. Eventually I realized though :)
