World Map with 10 Random Extra Borders
Name the 10 random countries in the world map below that have been cut in two by an extra border. The answers change every time!
Some extra borders may be difficult to spot!
This is a really cool idea. I went round each continent and was getting worried when I had done everything except Africa and had only found 3/10.... but it turned out I just had loads in north-west Africa!
Man, I don't think I've ever done worse on a border quiz, ever. I love border quizzes but I had a hard time spotting the extra lines in the time allotted. Nice challenge.
Time is fine imo, eventhough I missed 3 this first time (I wasted alot of time in an area I could have sworn had an extra border, so tried all the surrounding countries with no luck...)
Gonna have another go. A little bit of challenge is more fun imo, as long as it is feasible.
This quiz should probably be 4 minutes. It would be one thing if the map scrolled, but it's just cumbersome to click in and out all over the place to scan it.
I find I have to zoom in to check, but the zooming in and out takes such a large proportion of the short amount of time available. The geographical knowledge element is reduced in value because of the time constraint, imho :-)
It's a great concept, but the fake borders load last so it's easy to spot some of them (even accidentally) when the map loads. Also some of them have a slightly different texture compared to regular borders which make them stand out more, or maybe I'm too used to the usual borders.
If you don't mind I'd prefer doing them myself. The "extra border" series was originally one of my first map series on the site, so it's got a special place in my heart. As I said, I would've made the other versions sooner had it not been for being so busy with my final year of university.
Hey guys, I've been in a coma since 2006 and just woke up and took this quiz, Sudan and Serbia are not accepted answers for me, I think something is wrong.
i lowkey wonder if anyone who hasn’t been paying attention to world geography for the last ten years, is like furiously typing Sudan while shouting at their screen
The borders are intentionally the same design as the real borders, otherwise you're not looking for what's "wrong" with the map but just where a dark border is, which is less fun in my opinion.
Fun, but definitely comes down to observation at the end. Took me 12 times to get 10/10 and 9 of those times I got 9/10, just couldn't notice the last ones
Gonna have another go. A little bit of challenge is more fun imo, as long as it is feasible.
edit: got PNG again and the split really looks like it's just a separated island...
Also got Sudan and Chad's splits, which together are one line which was weird to look at...
Also, apparently line breaks don't work...

They just take so long to make I couldn't justify the time spent on them until my final exams are finished.
INCORRECT ANSWER
Serbian: "What you mean incorrect answer!? Kosovo is in solid Borders!"
Poland partition
I think they take each other's territory
And the countries like Portugal, Iceland, Sri Lanka, NZ which are kind of isolated and small... It makes noticing them harder.
Anyways, every quiz has some extreme points, and these are examples of this quiz!
Brilliant quiz @Stewart!
