Good quiz.

Arkansas being on the list made me brace for some really obscure presidential birthplace, perhaps from Zachary Taylor or Robert Ward Johnson, before it clicked.

Who in the world is Robert Ward Johnson? That’s a new president that I’ve never heard of.

Senator from Arkansas in the US before being a senator in the Confederacy. Also as you note, not a president. Though neither he nor Zachary Taylor were born in Arkansas and neither have especially obscure home states, so no idea about what OP meant.

He was both a United States Senator and a Confederate States Senator for Arkansas but, alas, he was born in Kentucky.

JFK in the thumbnail looks oddly like Robert Redford in The Candidate to me

As a Pennsylvanian, it's always embarrassed me that one of the nation's worst Presidents is the only one to come out of our state. That being said, his home estate, Wheatland, is just a few minutes from my sister's house which is kinda cool!

Agreed. But at least ya didn't get Tricky Dick Nixon coming out of yours ;) By the way, we both seem to know our fair share of U.S. history. We should have more convos about it sometime!

At least you can take some comfort in the fact THE worst was born in the state of New York? And I’m not talking about Van Buren, Fillmore or either of the Roosevelts!

As a South Carolinian I always thought my state was home to the worst president, Andrew Jackson

There's an interesting map (article) that shows number of Presidents by state of primary affiliation. Illinois has three Presidents --- Lincoln, Grant, and Obama --- none of which were born there. Ronald Reagan, who was born there, campaigned as a Californian.
