Nice quiz, I just wish there was a more interesting/relevant-to-Greece question instead of the Jackie Kennedy one.

I put false for the nazis taking over Greece because I thought it was the Italians. Am I wrong or mixing up terms?

Italians were unable to. Nazis came along and finished the job

Greece countered the Italian invasion and even began to push back into Italian territory before the Germans had to save them.

Greece was actually put under triple (!) occupation, Italy controlled most of the country - until 1943 that is - with Bulgaria occupying an irredentist claim they already had for the North and Germany keeping the major cities and strategic locations/islands.

By 1943, Italy capitulated to the Allies and the Nazis took over their territory executing many Italians and sending the rest to labor camps.

The Nazi occupation was ruthless, over 10% of the population died due to starvation and from the Nazi atrocities, committed against civilians "as retribution" due to the fact that Greek resistance was one of the fiercest, kicking a lot of Nazi ass throughout "the Occupation" as it is called until nowadays.

Greece is hands down one of my favourite countries, and I ain't even Greek! It just has such an incredibly unique mix of an amazingly rich history, which you can still see everywhere, natural beauty, a friendly people, and amazing food and drink. Also, there a just so many islands that you can find whatever you want, from crowded party-islands to traditional villages and secluded spots. I try to go there every year, though I've missed 2020 because of the pandemic, but I hope I'll be vaccinated by July. I've also been learning the language for two years.
