Im my opinion, after all the geography quizzes that have appeared here and there, five minutes is way too much time, even for mobile users.

Why do people make it a "Type as fast as you can race"? This is not about how fast you can type in a computer or mobile. It's about who KNOWS the flags. I got all of them correctly at frist try but I type slow, I take it esy for I'm not competing Usain Bolt. In a glance I know all the country names and capitals within let's say some 10 seconds(I haven't cared for checking that time either) but what difference does it make? In a Geography test at school your teachers never handed you the test with a chronometer in their hands in order to grade you, did they?

The problem with some quizzes like this is that when there is too much time, people can just guess every country they know without actually knowing the answers. However, having said that, I don't think there's any problem with the time limit as is.

Who really cares if people guess or not? Honestly, you're not competing for $ or job placement or even showing off to anyone but yourself, just testing what you know. If you don't know the answer and want to type in 120 random guesses, you're in an actual double negative situation: proving nothing to nobody.

But does your teacher give you hours of time? Tests in school are also meant to be for a limited time, because in hardly any situation in your life do you have infinite time to get to a solution.

Nathaniel I come to jetpunk to forget about the competitiveness and time pressure of real life not to emulate it into a hobby.

That said there's always the "take untimed" button so I really don't think this is a problem one way or the other.

For the Bulgaria flag I was accidentally typing Lithuania for some reason and with Malaysia I said the capital with Jakarta and when I wrote Jakar I was like NOPE

To all the folks complaining about this quiz, I've got an idea: if you don't like it, skip it! No one says you have to do this quiz.

There's absolutely no reason to complain about a quiz on a website that's all about having FUN and killing some time.

I, frankly, enjoyed this quiz a lot, and it also looks great! Those flag emojis are actually pretty cool, and I'm generally not an emoji fan

Good job to the quiz creator, and leave the time limit as is. Don't give in to the complainers!

It's completely normal to want to share your opinion on something. The only case in which people shouldn't feel free to express negativity about something is if they're being really obnoxious about it. Negativity is, in fact, crucial to a functioning society or community. If no one ever complained about anything, the things they didn't like would keep happening, and they would be left silently sad.

Your point that this website is meant for having fun so they shouldn't complain doesn't make sense because clearly these people are not having fun! They're trying to increase their fun by ensuring that a quiz they didn't like does not become a trend. It's great that YOU liked it, but that's your personal opinion.

It's not rude to disapprove of something :)

"Negativity is, in fact, crucial to a functioning society or community." But this is a quiz site - being able to knock this particular quiz off in 30 seconds makes no difference to anything, so why seek to penalise those who aren't as wonderful as you?

I think the time is fine. There are plenty of people who do not know all the flags (me), and there are plenty of people who do not know all the capitals (me). I found it doubly challenging but still managed to get 22/28.

Flag quizzes in general already exist on here, and the emojis aren't linked to the capitals (as opposed to the quizzes with normal flags which just ask for the countries), so why use emoji flags? Is there a specific need for them? Just curious.

Probably because it's difficult to come up with ideas for four new, original quizzes every single day for over eight years. That's a lot of quizzes....and with a lot of years still ahead of us! Besides, I thought it was an original twist on a popular topic.

To all the people pleading for less time, more than 60% didnt get rabat so they needed all the time. About a 30% of the people get all the answers correct, but if you check the stat page you see that it is very skewed, many people clearly cheated.

Edit:and with an average of 21 the time is CLEARLY not too long, otherwise it would be like 27,

Oh NO!!! I finished with 4 1/2 minutes left on the time! Egad, this is so stressful; please, change the quiz to reflect my superior knowledge and speed! Anyone who can't do this is beneath my contempt! You stole 3 minutes of my life! (Oops, maybe not, since the quiz stopped as soon as I made my usual 100%.) But how can I possibly boast about myself except by announcing that it's too easy? It has been suggested that, when I've mastered a quiz in record time, I simply pat myself on the back, pour a cup of tea (or a glass of wine) and search for a more challenging quiz. What, are they crazy? (Refer back to sentence that begins with "But....") It's also been suggested that I try some quizzes that are on subects I've never stuudied. Egad...no way. It;s cheating to guess or take the quizzes untimed until mastering them. What if someone could figure out I did that?

Well, sorry, BigHeadBob, but I actually think that it's cool. So, yeah, sorry if this sounds stupid coming from a 10-year-old, but I just don't agree. I mean, "Stunningly pointless"? Look, this was made for a point - fun. I'll admit that studying is kind of boring, but just like GrammarBeane1 and many more said, it's a fairly good quiz. Your message is just plain rude. I, simply put, do not agree with that offensive comment. And, if the person who wrote this is reading my note, I think it's quite a good quiz. :)
