That wasn't as hard as you made it sound. I only (really) missed Seville and Taipei. On this quiz I missed Ulaanbataar because there are not as many type-ins accepted for its spelling as usual and after trying a few I started to question whether the city had a million residents or not.

it's not also spelled ulaanbaatar?

it might be. who the heck knows? I'm pretty sure the other spelling is accepted on the capitals of the world quiz because I always get it on that one.

I couldn't get it to work with usual JetPunk spelling either.

Ulaanbaatar is an accepted spelling, which I remember from Civ 5 as one of the later cities Genghis can settle.

Well, I went with Auckland, and I'm still not sure why that isn't the right answer. 600k closer and 1.5m people, so I assume it is some obscure definition of 'metro population'.

By that logic it also shouldn't accept Istanbul though, which straddles the Bosphorus... So I also can't figure out why Palermo isn't accepted.

I initially missed Seville because - not being a native English speaker - I used its Spanish name Sevilla, which wasn't accepted.

Also, if Tanger hasn't yet surpassed 1,000,000 (it was almost at 950,000 in 2014) then it soon will have and Sevilla will be wrong however you spell it.

Vancouver may be the nearest city over 1 million to Mt. McKinley, but it is very far away.

Missed Helsinki because it's not considered to have over 1 mil inhabitants in Finland. Yes, the metro certainly has that, but that's again something we usually overlook. So I overlooked it. Even though I couldn't think of any cities far north enough and big enough after all my guesses were wrong.

Had the same thing with Helsinki. These urban populations can be tricky. Did not expect Salt Lake City and Ulaan Baatar to exceed the 1 million limit either.

Palermo should be the answer for Sicily - if you accept Helsinki dor the North pole, than Palermo - which is more or less of the same size - should be accepted for Sicily!
