Sequel was requested, so here it is. There's only one easy question on the whole quiz!

Which one do you consider easy? There are several equally easy ones imo.

Easy ones (for people that have some capital knowledge aswell) colombo, manila, antanarivo, denpasar, copenhagen, douglas, and maybe kirkwall (clearly brittish, so it is just a matter of which island).

Have to admit, couldnt remember luzon though I knew what i was trying to remember, and didnt get bali... soo familiar but didnt click. I did get big island, newfoundland, tahiti, sumatra and gotland aswell though. But more guesses (newfoundland, sumatra and tahiti) and educated guesses for hawaii and gotland.

Hardsest ones (as in dont know the city or the island..) kyushu and hokkaido

Naha (Okinawa) is also pretty hard, and Kirkwall (Orkney) takes a lot of guesses (Wight, Jersey, Guernsey, Skye, Lewis or even Man if it wasn't already filled in under Douglas). I agree for the other ones, but if you remember the big four Japanese islands (Kyushu, Honshu, Hokkaido and Shikoku), it shouldn't be too hard. Okinawa isn't one of the big four Japanese islands, which makes it significantly harder.

'Kirk' is the Scots word for 'church' and derives from Old Norse, so even if you don't know where Kirkwall is, you should know to limit your search to the Shetlands, Orkneys or Hebrides.

You've got some pretty lofty expectations for what people "should" know, especially for the non-Brits.

Would have been stuck on 19 if an old girlfriend (surname, of course Anderson) hadn't once taken me to Gotland to search for her great-grandfather's grave. Missed the grave (found out later that generations back it was Andersson, a name as common as Smith over there) but found Visby to be the cutest town ever.

Gotland is nice and if visited during the middle age festival, even nicer.

It's been a major transatlantic port for 500 years, the closest point in the Americas to Europe.

You reminded me of that Simpsons episode about the robot wars:

"Show me a rule that robot can't be a human."

"Here, sir. Rule number one."

South-east of Australia? Anyway... NZ is not just one island. The biggest two are most known by North and South Island which is kind of general. I believe not a lot of people know their Māori-names.

Yes, and they are always called the North Island, and the South Island. They are never spoken as North Island or South Island.

Came here to say this. There is no island called 'Orkney'. It would be like accepting "Indonesia" for Medan, albeit on a much smaller scale.

Those saying that Orkney isn't one island are correct, though. *Mainland* Orkney (sometimes just called Mainland) is, though.

Orkney is the name of the island group as a whole - Kirkwall is on the main island, which is called ‘Mainland’.

Good quiz. I reckon another would make a fine addition, continuing the trend of greater difficulty. Some suggestions: Samarinda (Borneo), Davao (Mindanao), Jayapura (New Guinea), Kupang (Timor), Makassar (Sulawesi), Honiara (Guadalcanal), Port of Spain (Trinidad), Castries (St Lucia), Lerwick (the Mainland, Shetland), Longyearbyen (Svalbard), Victoria (Vancouver), Las Palmas (Gran Canaria), Valletta (Malta), Ushuaia (Isla Grande de Tierra del Fuego), Stanley (East Falkland), Hadibu (Socotra), Haikou (Hainan).

Would it be better to merge this with the first one so the difficulty is the same between the two?
