this is incorrect . . . Brigade and Regiment are parallel (depending on the type of unit) . . . unless the Army has changed things in the 12 years since I served . . .

A brief look at Wikipedia suggests that regiments were pretty much eliminated from US Army but are currently making a comeback. So you could be right about US Army but the quiz is also correct as it says in the caveat that it is not country-specific (or US-centric :=)

So now I'm confused. When the instructions indicated that "the very largest [...] units have been left out" I took that to mean that "Army" wouldn't be on there.

Then I saw the answers and saw that indeed "Army" is one of the answers. So if that's not the largest unit size, what could possibly be bigger than that, that would be the one that was omitted?
