People normally call the Koreas that to shorten names on fast paced quizzes like this. For instance, typing Congo for both Democratic Republic of Congo and Republic of Congo in the Countries of the World Quiz. Writing CAR for the Central African Republic.

I think the only ones that in real life conversation are called by their abreviations are the UK and the USA not even UAE I think, though I don't have enough info on that one to be sure (havent had/heard many conversations about it, but it feels weird to say.)

I usually type China and Taiwan, not PRC or ROC, but on this one I did. I always type (and sometimes say) DPRK, ROK and KSA.

I use ROK and DPRK because we are one country, Korea, with two states. Both countries' citizens use these names to be respectful in English. ROK is very very common in ROK.

UAE is a common layover stop, especially these days, and people usually say Emirates or UAE.

PRC is used to avoid saying "mainland China" over and over when discussing Chinese/HK/Taiwan/Macau. ROC is less commonly used by English speakers in ROK.

I just go (generally) west to east; having some sort of geographic order makes it easier for me to remember which ones I'm still missing and helps me transition between them more quickly.

If anything I would do the longer ones first. Because as time progresses I start fumbling more and more, and at superspeed I can still throw out the short ones, but the long ones are getting a mess (plus more places to make errors)

If you're only going to give us a minute to do this in... could you please finally accept KSA for the KSA, DPRK for the DPRK, ROK for the ROK, and maybe ROC for Taiwan. I think PRC is already accepted for China but that only saves you two letters, unlike the others which are significant.

It is extremely difficult or nearly impossible to do this without looking at a list and typing. Looking at map and trying to do it via recall is extremely difficult. I think that max I have gotten out of probably a dozen+ attempts is 43, which is just under 5-star status.
