Moctezuma II was not the last Aztec Emperor... He was Emperor at the arrival of the spanish conquistadors, but he was succeeded in 1520 by Cuitlahuac (next to last, in office for only 80 days) who in turn was succeeded by the last Emperor CUAUHTEMOC who finally surrendered the Aztec Capital Tenochtitlan in 1521
Same here, I knew that's who we were talking about. The 2 different spellings for the same name confuse me. It's always spelled Santa Ana in the numerous place names, presumably all named after Jesus' grammy.
Did you forget that you had already included the question mark? Did you forget to include the subject and interrogative auxiliary construction in your question?
I think adding the Zetas to the history of Mexico is insulting, that group keeps killing people and kidnapping, and to put them here in the quiz instead of something else like the independence day, 5 de mayo (Batalla de Puebla), Mexican Revolution, The discoveries and inventions of the Mayans, The territories of Mexico in central and north America, the incursions of Mexican ships through all the South Pacific, Where does the Hot Peppers, Tomatoes, Chocolate, Vanilla, etc. Originated. And many many more things.
I think the question for the Texas should read more along the lines of which US state was founded by by settlers who illegally invaded Mexican land and then had the nerve to call their illegal act a declaration of independence.
Sort of, but Crimea's had 100+ years of Russian majority, Israel's been 70 years settled in on Palestine, Polish have had historic German land and Ukrainians eastern Polish lands for 70+ years, etc. Very few now were born in those places before forced occupation and relocation, right or wrong. The immigrant "Texans" still had the water on their backs when they started killing government soldiers and officials. Obviously 180 years on, the aforementioned is the case with Texas too, but mythologizing those slave expansionist immigrant insurrectionists is a travesty.
Can you imagine if the illegal immigrants, including many senior Mexican government officials, started a war against the U.S. government to take U.S. soil as an independent country? Daniel Boone, Davey Crockett, Sam Houston, Steve Austin, etc were foreign immigrant insurgents and several had been members of the foreign legislature (U.S. Congress). Sorry, Texas, they weren't patriots, they were closer to ISIS. At least, for better or worse, some members of ISIS are natives of the territory they try to take control of for their own greedy gain. The foreign insurgents' government even put a bounty on native residents' scalps brought to them. Terrorist insurgents through and through.
It's not insulting. Her unibrow is probably the best-known thing about her. Look at any of her self-portraits and you can see that she includes her unibrow and facial hair. Saying that she has one is only insulting if you view having a unibrow as inherently bad.
I know it's not that difficult to erase-then-type, but knowing that "mexica" is accepted as answer is really good...
Then again, why the insistence in revering a below-average at-best painter like Kahlo, having the likes of Rivera, Tamayo and Siqueiros?
This would be like asking a maker of an american history quiz to not talk about slavery. Ridiculous
