Yea these chains are nice :) I usually get 100% but sometimes miss 1 or 2. This time I didnt really know taro, but I still guessed correct from the letters :)

I'm not that good at these. Only got a few. I'm really surprised I got the Timbuktu question on my first try (Mali)

Is it bad that one of the many things I tried for the Polynesia question was "taco" before finally giving up?

I remember studying the Polynesian crop, and discovered alcohol within them. Yip, there was whisky in the taro....

If you're still wondering, I believe it's a reference to "Whiskey in the Jar", a song by Thin Lizzy and covered by Metallica

@Knaggs2001 - You mean a traditional Irish song that both Thin Lizzy and Metallica covered.

National Sport of Japan is not sumo, but Baseball

Level 81

Isn't that (baseball) just the most popular sport, as opposed to the official national sport?

Japan doesn't have an official national sport. Some countries do (which I find very odd) but for most of the rest it's basically just opinion.

Baseball doesn't have four letters or fit in the chain though.

Could 'taro' be removed from the quiz? It's the only one I didn't get.

Just joking! :) But honestly that was the only one I missed.

Only reason I got that is that I had enough time to start with "T- - O", replace the first - with a vowel, "a", and then start across my keyboard...Q, W, E, R...**DING, DING!** Verrrry fortunate.

possibly so but doesn't work with the clue before it. Not familiar with Dell. Is that what the song Farmer in the Dell was about?

It is indeed! It comes from the same Old English word that "dale" comes from, as in "over hill and dale."

feeling somewhat vindicated at typing in Dale even though it didn't fit the clue haha. Can I claim half a point for etymological similarity?

That was my first reply as well. If it didn't throw off the chain, I'd say it should be accepted.

I feel like Hull should also be acceptable for city in northern England

If a wharf were also called a quah and the Scottish were wearing lilts on their lower bodies, Hull would be a perfectly acceptable answer. As it stands, best to leave it out, I think.
