We visited Kaua'i and loved the fact that we could go from beach to ranchland to desert to canyons to fir forest and snow-capped mountain and then to rain forest within 80 miles, and their mountains are less than a mile high. Such an amazing place. Mauna Kea on the Big Island is close to 14,000 ft from sea level, and 33,000 ft from the ocean floor.
Hmm there probably aren't many quizzes where both Alaska and Hawaii are answers besides this one and the States quiz...they are so different yet so closely associated in the minds of the American population...always one and the other.
After doing that about 5 times on these types of quizzes I just automatically put them in first thing as a "wild card" of sorts. I really didn't expect Hawaii but just in case you know?

Idaho, Arizona, Oregon, Texas, and South Dakota all come in above North Carolina.
Okay I'm done with my rant/poetic thoughts
