Assumably, India is much higher because the cow is sacred in Hinduism. That’s why India has so many cows since you can’t butcher and eat them. Therefore, dairy is the way to go. Looking it up just now, woah! India has 300 million cows. China only has 50 million.
My thought process too. Also because I can think of more Indian dishes that utilize milk/cheese/yogurt (e.g. paneer, mango lassi) than I can for Chinese dishes.
It is probably region dependent but my image of Indo-Pakistani cuisine is one in which cheese and especially youghourt are prevalent plus milky chai is a staple drink.
