yep, that would be a "fun" one indeed. However, it is mostly just one canton that did not have it until 1991. For the country as a whole, it was introduced in 1971 "already", making it approx. 25th in the list.
Fun fact: famous youtuber/mathematician Matt Parker (StandUpMaths) calculated that, when adjusted for terrain, the land area of Switzerland is larger than Netherlands, which makes Netherlands a possible answer to the Olympics question.
That is fun indeed! However area is usually referred to without adjustment for terrain. So if you ever buy a plot of land in Switzerland, go for the steepest one and you'll get some for free ;-)
Wow, the Netherlands is larger than Switzerland? Only just barely but that still surprises me. Looking at a map, I would've thunk Switzerland is bigger.
Re: Longest time since the country has been controlled by a foreign occupier, the Channel Islands were occupied by Germany in WWII. Do you mean countries wholly occupied by foreign powers?
Yep, as the other commenter says, the Channel Islands aren't part of the UK. They're Crown Protectorates. The UK is solely the land of England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
It says "time since the country was controlled by a foreign occupier," yes that's a little ambiguous but clearly occupying the Channel Islands doesn't meet that standard. Guam was occupied in World War 2, but that doesn't make it so the US doesn't qualify, either...
I liked this quiz! I found the question "longest single word name" a bit unclear, wondering if it aimed for the longest word in the language, a (family) name or the name of the country. It would be great if you could make the question a bit clearer. Thank you!
Question 14 is confusing. Present Perfect here means that these countries ARE controlled by a foreign occupier. I don't know about all of them, but Russia is not, Portugal is not, Spain is not. I guess none of them are actually. If the question was about the past, it should be in Past Simple (a finished action). Present Perfect here would be something that began in the past and is still true.

There's a number of others as well, Zaria, Nigeria... Zaporizhzhia, Ukraine... am I missing some other criterion here?
