Is there something particularly iconic about the Johannesburg skyline that makes it recognizable? In all the other ones there were specific landmarks/buildings that helped with identification, but I don't know anything about the Johannesburg skyline.

Maybe it's in for the challenge and inclusion (of Africa). I just left it down to two I wasn't quite sure of and 50% chance was enough for obtaining the perfect score.

Other cities stop at one tall tower with a bulbous knob somewhere near the top. Cape Town decided they needed three. Similar approach as South Africa took to its national capitals.

You can see the buildings are shorter than others.

It has the Hillbrow Tower, which sticks up similarly to the CN Tower in Toronto and is the tallest tower in Africa, as well as a few other skyscrapers.

1) NY,Seattle,Paris,Dubai,KL,easy. Barcelona's a foggy memory. Sydney/bridge. Shanghai probably more condensed than Toronto.

For Johannesburg.. I was once skimming through tripadvisor Africa.

I remembered stories about a crappy tourist trap- I guess tour busses drop you off at the tallest building in the country, continent, or some variant etc. Turns out it's rundown/vacant, you might not be able to get to the top anyway, and you have a high likelihood of being mugged while you're there.

So I assumed the one with the white elephant was SA. I guess it's called the Carlton Centre. Figured it was likely SA, since how many other countries would have tourism + tallest building in Africa. And how many countries in the developed world would choose to stick that sore thumb onto their skyline. You could also go: Toronto=spire (CN Tower), then, which would you expect to have worse urban planning, Toronto, or SA?

"Map Quiz" is a quiz format, originally intended for maps. It is the one where you click the answers highlighted in blue, rather than typing them. Being level 82, I would've thought you'd know that already?

Can't you remove "Map quiz" from the title?
+1
Level 86
Jan 8, 2020
And it was a serious question. I'm not sure wether the tag is added automatically when you use that format or not (and if it can be removed or not).

The tag in the title is not, but the actual "tag" is added automatically due to the format used. But QM normally includes "Map Quiz" in all features quizzes of this format (for example see my Monopoly "Map Quiz" features). I think I'll leave the choice up to QM due to this.

In Seattle the Space Needle is far from the tallest building. Based on the other skylines it seemed like you were trying to keep things roughly in scale rather than focusing on a specific angle (but I could be wrong, not an expert on these skylines).

If that is the case, I'd suggest reducing space needle size relative to others

Great quiz, though the silhouette of KL needs a makeover now that Merdeka 118 and The Exchange 106 have both been completed.
