Decipher the Coded Countries
Jeppy needs your help! Millions have been stolen from his bank account and redistributed across 12 countries. The only evidence you have is an encrypted sheet of paper and a tip from an anonymous friend. Can you crack the code and find the money in time?
Thanks to everyone for the kind comments! Since it seems to be a common theme in the comments, I'll say this: I have been planning a sequel to this quiz. Unfortunately, I've been very busy recently and haven't had time to work on it. I promise it will come eventually, but you might have to be patient for a little bit.
amazing quiz! it was lots of fun, as someone who enjoys secret codes :) i think it's pretty good on times and difficulty, though i'd love to see a harder version for a challenge!
Thanks! Given the popularity of this quiz so far, I might try a harder version in the future. I'm thinking it would be particularly tough without a hint :)
I would keep the hint, but make it so that once you fill in an incorrect answer you are done, the quiz stops. Because I have an inkling many people might be just spamming countries, or at the least guessing as soon as they know a few letters.
I managed to do it without any guessing, only typing in when I had verified and was sure the answer would be correct and the only possible option. I was typing the last answer in the very last second!
There's nothing wrong with guessing after a few letters. Vowel patterns in country names are already pretty unique. If you know your country is _A_A_A, that only leaves a few options. If people are really struggling and need to brute force themselves through a few, that's okay--they can still use their newly earned knowledge of what characters go with what letters to figure out the rest of the countries. I think very few people are treating this as a COTW style quiz and just guessing any answer they can think of--I mean, where's the fun in that? You could theoretically do that on a quiz for any country, but very few users do because that defeats the purpose of JetPunk.
Thanks Dug! This was fun to make and it sounds like there's demand for more quizzes like this, so I'll probably do sequels in the future. That being said, I'm pretty busy these days. I just happened to have a free weekend last week where I could hammer this out, but I'm not sure when I'll have a whole day to work on a quiz again. I can promise I'll do it eventually, but I'm not sure when that will be.
This is a fantastic quiz format; I really enjoyed it! Did you plan out the path people would need to take as they figured out more letters? I uh… cheated by brute forcing my second country and I solved the rest pretty easily. Not sure if yellow box would be better, but it occurs to me that I could have brute forced the whole quiz in 6 minutes. It was too fun to solve it to brute force it, though! Anyway, wonderful quiz and very nice SVG. :)
Thanks to both of you for taking! I sorta intended for the puzzle order to be up-and-down first, not side-to-side (as I assume you did), but I think part of the fun is figuring out how to proceed with the letters you have. That being said, I don't mind brute-forcing if you're stuck on a particular clue, as long as you don't do it for the whole puzzle.
I don't think yellow box would work because I hid the answer table. Thanks for the suggestion though!
Can't you make it so that the quiz ends when an incorrect answer is guessed (might be harsh for those that make a typo, but if it is mentioned at the top, those that are prone to typos would just type extra carefull. Plus it is not like they can't do it again)
I want people to get as many answers as possible. I don't see how ending the quiz after a wrong answer would make it more fun, I think it would just make it more frustrating. Plus, this would be very hard to implement.
This is so good and satisfying! After getting the super-easy first one, I started moving downwards and got stuck only to realise I should have moved rightwards.
Sorry for replying a bit late, but thanks! I don't take quizzes on mobile much, so I don't necessarily cater my quizzes to mobile users, but I know that's a large JetPunk user base, so if you have any suggestions, let me know.
I checked it out on my mobile, and I don't have that problem. Perhaps it's just something wrong with your phone? I'll put a pinned comment on top though to see if anyone else is having this problem. Thanks for pointing this out!
Great quiz! I didn't notice the "IRAN" key until after I finished it, and I think it's more fun without it. I recommend "Hard" ones without a key in the future.
Thanks! And also thanks to everyone above ^ Since this quiz is featured now, I probably won't reply to every comment, but I appreciate them all the same.
Great quiz! However, on mobile. The answers flash for a split second as soon as I open the quiz, so I managed to get 2 free answers which definitely helped…
I love this format! If you want to diversify with the sequel, national capitals, states or provinces of a given country, or elements might be cool in this format as well.
this was literally the most fun quiz i've taken and i didn't even realize there was A KEY! most fun i've had in years since my grand daughter's divorce from her good for nothing husband (we were waiting YEARS)
Hey JWatson24, I think this is a great quiz and I thought that it would be cool to have this in the spanish section.
Can you give me permission to translate this quiz into spanish? (btw, I can make other countries in the SVG so that there are no problems in the translation of countries)
Yes you have my full permission, I would love to see a Spanish version!!! I'm not sure if you need help with making it, but if you have any questions, you can ask in the comments section here or reach me on the JetPunk Discord (or talk to Stewart; he helped me with this quiz).

Would honestly love a sequel! :)
I have noticed that on mobile, some of the letters slightly stick out from the left side of the blanks.

Great and unique quiz though! I love it.
□■□●○○●••\○○●○●○●□
■○●○○●◇◇~•○□○¤○○、:
◇○•°~•°••□□○
and in conclusion, this was a pretty fun quiz.
