Edward was not a king when he married Wallis Simpson - he was Prince Edward, Duke of Windsor. He had to abdicate the throne to marry her.

He was the King. If he wasn't already King he wouldn't have had to, or have been able to, abdicate.

He wasn't King at the time of the marriage, he had already abdicated. He became the King on 20th Jan 1936 and abdicated on 10th Dec 1936. He married Simpson on 3rd Jun 1937

I got them all right (I'm old) but my results show lots of my responses as being only 50% correct. What's up with that? Did I not capitalize when typing? Did I hesitate? How can one person only get a one-word answer 50% correct?

The right column shows your all-time average (since last reset). 50% means that you got the answer right this time but you had taken the quiz once before and missed it. (or missed twice and got it right once etc)

Mao's leadership of the Chinese Communist Party wasn't settled until the Zunyi conference, halfway through the Long March. Before that, a number of others, especially Zhou Enlai had more control than Mao.

Same! I almost didn't get it because I started with 'Spanish' and proceeded to ponder whether the Chinese civil war might be the answer.
