Texas technically borders 8 states, counting the Mexican states it borders.

What about Utah? Does it not border Arizona, Nevada, Idaho, Wyoming, Colorado and New Mexico?

You're right, Utah's missing, tried it as well

You guys are right...except the caveat clearly says this quiz doesn't count borders that are a single point (like Utah's is with New Mexico).

Why not though? That's imo an arbitrary restriction?

Seems like the only reason why not is that the quiz says not. You could make a different quiz, though!

It does not count because the four corners do not count as border in this quiz.

I'm sorry but, if the quiz says "Not counting states that border on a single point", how does Colorado border 7 states?

I mean, I could be seeing things wrong, but I only seem to count 6 states (WY, UT, NM, OK, KS and NE). Arizona is only at the corner, which would be a single point, therefore, not count as a state.

Utah has 6 borders, meaning it should be on this list

It’s part of the four corners meaning it borders certain other states at a single point which is in the description

Nope, Utah has borders, not a considering the ones with just a single point, with only 5 states. New Mexico is just at the corner and so it doesn't count.

it counts as a border

But the length the Utah–New Mexico border is exactly 0 mi.

Pretty surprised about Texas not being here but I guess it only borders 4 states. It's definitely funny how some of the states with the longest borders (California, Texas, Alaska) border fewer states, but factoring in coastline and international borders it makes sense.

Utah needs to be added. It border New Mexico technically

Why restrict the Four Corners aspect? It's a border.

Jan 26, 2023
Technically, the Four Corner's border length is 0 miles, meaning it isn't a border since there is no border length.
