When the question says "since 1066" it means after William the Conqueror won the Battle of Hastings and became King. The reason for this is that the modern kings' names and numberings begin from then, and not before then, even if the year was 1066. (So that Edward the Confessor, for example, is not one of the numbered Edwards I-VI, who began two centuries later).
So, what it says and what it means are two different things... Perhaps a revision such as "after Hastings" or after Norman Conquest" could be entered, without giving away any of the answers.
God, let this one be. At least there's no problem with this one like when you're asked "Who came before Queen Elizabeth" and it accepts George. There were several of them!! It matters!
Seriously... what's with the attitude!! Ofcourse it matters, just as it matters that there were 2 historic figures by the name napoleon and also more than one important khan.
do i pérsonally care if the numbers are added in the quiz, not really. But they are just as important as any other figure in history and deserve the right not to be lumped into one.
iran should be under for nuclear weapons or whatever. Did they just cut it out so they'd have nine instead of the accurate ten in that group? That's just wrong.
No, for the same reason it doesn't accept "three sevens" for "three of a kind." It's just one of the possible values of that hand. If no one has an ace, then the high card might be, say, a king.
Baseball!? A sport barely played outside of North America and one that most Europeans know absolutely nothing about and never hear even a passing mention of in the news. Fantastic.
Did you know that it's the most played sport in Japan? That there's a lot of baseball fever in South Korea and Taiwan? That Venezuela (a country that by no means is on North America) is perhaps the country that provides the most foreign players to the MLB?
We play softball here in New Zealand, and the positions are the same as baseball, so all good. Brady Bunch was on TV here many years ago - you need to be pretty old to have heard of it!
Went through seven categories with no problems. Then, I got 2 of the Brady Bunch while trying to guess Kings of England (all of which I eventually got, thank goodness).
Was hoping against all hope that simply typing in "that one weird guy", all of the answers for the LOTRs section would be filled in. Sadly, not the case. Only 9 that I missed. :-(
Funny quiz in that there will be almost no overlap between people that can name all 9 characters in the brady bunch and all 9 members of the fellowship of the ring. I certainly only got one of the Brady Bunch after just guessing names, as the last episode aired some 25 years before I was born!
Why wouldn't there be overlap? People can like both high fantasy and silly sitcoms at the same time. And LotR has been around for more than 60 years, so it's certainly not any sort of an age issue.
I guess if you aren't a certain age and American, you wouldn't know the Brady Bunch as well as me since it was on every single day after school (2 episodes in a row).
I got right fielder by a total accident. I wanted to type flush, but I had a left-over r in the answer box, so it automatically showed right fielder. Then I tried left and central fielder as well as the bases and for my surprise and delight it worked out as well. In the end I got all but shortstop instead of the only two I actually knew: pitcher and catcher.
Just to be pedantic about the orders for the sake of doing so - if using the numbering system used to score baseball games, 3B (5) would come before SS (6).
Also I'm curious - what is the order of the reindeer? Is it related to their positions when they're in flying formation?
Baseball was tough because I’m not American but you could get a few by guessing, but who the hell are the Brady Bunch? I feel like that’s an instant 0/9 for pretty much all non-Americans

Gandalf as Pitcher. (Nasty curve ball).
Gimli as Catcher.
Frodo 1B.
Merry 2B.
Pippin SS.
Aragorn 3B (Can handle the hot corner).
Boromir RF (Great arm).
Legolas CF (He's everywhere).
Samwise LF (Best place to hide him).

How about us Israeli Jews?? (But still, I knew Marcia..)
You must be right, every person that missed earth as an answer does not know it is a planet..
