I'm not sure if this is possible, but maybe you could have the state appear after you type in the city?

Well, somehow I missed Boston. Sorry for the inconvenience. Changes are now pending.

No, Boston should not appear on the list. They are only 9.966% of the state as of 2019.

Jun 21, 2020
Well, that does round up to 10% (and 10.0%).

But it's not over 10%, which is what this quiz is asking.

Level 75

It's possible the definition has changed since your comment, but as of now, it says "at least 10%." I'd argue that, with the numbers above (which were before the last census and will have changed), Boston should qualify.

Level 60
Jul 12, 2023
Well, then you would say 2.4% rounds to 2.5% rounds to 5% rounds to 10%. That doesn't make 2.4% at least 10%.

Same here. Probably should be in the caveat that there might be multiple cities from same state. Great quiz!

i dont think that should be a caveat because it feels implied that that would work, henderson still got me though

I think the main title is somewhat misleading as it could be taken to mean "the" most populous cities in each state, so I was surprised to see Nevada and Oklahoma with more than one, for example. I can see how that could be read the intended way, too. And the sub-title does make it clearer, but I didn't read that cause I thought the main title made sense.

"Cities with at least 10% of their state's population" would make it clearer.

Regardless, nice quiz.

I knew the one for South Dakota, saw the skyline in my mind, and typed Sioux City. I was surprised that it didn't work and even wondered if I should go back and try spelling it again but went on instead. Face palm.

I was surprised not to see Baltimore here. I guess there are a lot of people in Maryland in the suburbs of either Baltimore or Washington (or both)?

It looks like we just BARELY miss the cut, with 9.97% of Maryland's population.

Both are huge metro areas, in which the 'city proper' is much smaller. Also, both states include significant population centers that are not part of their biggest city.
