Thanks for the shoutout QM. At least I lived up to my reputation as a Kansas and Nebraska expert by getting 100%. Which is funny, because everyone seems to think I hate Nebraska after this quiz. Looking back on my quiz from four (!) years later, having "both/neither" be options for every question definitely raised the difficulty unnecessarily.

I would disagree (about both/neither, not about you hating Nebraska). It makes it more interesting, it just serves a different audience than this quiz.

I don't think Lincoln, Nebraska, lies on the Missouri River. It's about 40 miles away.

And Topeka, Kansas, is about 41 miles from the Missouri River.

Agreed. The closest river, the Platte, is still about twenty miles away.

I got #9 because of the mural at the state capitol. If you ever get a chance, stop by—unlike most other capitols, you can actually go inside the chambers, and even up to the speaker's desk. Not to mention that it's just a very pretty building in general.

Correction: only the House is open for walk-ins. The Senate is roped off, but you can still look in.

Neither has a capital on the Missouri River, though Lincoln is slightly closer. Nebraska's *largest city* is on the Missouri, though.

Imagine starting Arbor Day in either state with no trees.

Kansas actually has more trees than most people think. I would know, I’ve lived in Kansas since the day I was born

that's a pretty ignorant statement to make. Kansas may be flat, but it has LOTS of trees.

A quiz tailor-made to ask something about the (really important) Kansas-Nebraska Act of 1854! Maybe a John Brown question, or something of the sort?

literally no one ever mentions Nebraska so this was a nice change

There was a state elimination quiz where the last clue was "is a state" and answer was Nebraska. I guess they couldn't come up with anything interesting about it.
