Pff this is one of the parts im struggling with ( or better yet didnt practize and memorise like i did with europe and south America) well lets see what we can make of it :D the rest of africa im not too bad with.
Not bad at all! I only put guinea bisseau on the other side of guinea and thought togo was benin. Im pleased with that :)
edit, well no edit but more add-it haha, didnt want to make a new comment.. but wanted to say these sectioned maps really helps with learning. Small pieces at a time instead of everything. Works great. I think if i do i one more time in a week or two (so twice in total) i would allready know them. If i would do africa as a whole it wont take 4 times longer (assuming this is roughly a quarter) but like 10 times longer (so revising the entire map 20 times)
Completely agree, which is why I made this one! Western Africa was the hardest part of the world for me to learn the positions of the countries. So I thought it's likely others might have that too, therefore this quiz aids in helping that :)
Togo and Benin are the two that usually give me trouble, but lately I've remembered that Togo is smaller in area than Benin, just like Togo is one letter shorter than Benin.
@Stewart: I find the hardest countries to learn the position of are the Caribbean nations (the Lesser Antilles anyway), and the Pacific Islands as a close second. Not so easy there to get their position in relation to other countries, or to recognize them from their form. On mainland nations, it's like they're on a grid, and they're hooked onto each other. Islands are literally swimming in the open sea, with nothing to hook on to. Just think about "Random guess the country on an empty map". Without reference, the islands are almost impossible to get.
Yes I agree! I should've perhaps been more clear (or bad wording on my part), West Africa was the last part of the world for me to remember names, and the last continental part to remember locations. I should've excluded Oceania in that, since I only know maybe 60% of their locations first try!
Thank you for this quiz! I also struggle the most with this part of Africa. I still need to learn where exactly Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Sierra Leone and Liberia are. And now I know that Togo is west of Benin and not the other way around.
