Learnt a few lakes I never knew existed... Funny watching them go from healthy blue to algal bloom green when I got the big three right, then saw the rest turn even more algally crazy/polluted red!

BlackLab, if you're measuring greatness by the number of endemic species of fish, probably lakes Malawi and Tanganyika would win hands down.

Tanganyika was the only one I knew, but I just started guessing a lot of British royal names and bagged three more.

And he was the husband of Victoria, who most people know to be someone one of the lakes is named after, so he's a logical next choice.

"Victoria and Albert" is a pretty common name for things, especially in (post) English-colonial Africa.

Only knew the largest three lakes before. And should accept Edouard as Edward because D.R.Congo names most of the names in French.

Only knew the Big 3 + Kivu. Know about Kivu because it's apparently explosive or something, due to high amount of some gas at the bottom of it (which Rwanda extracts). Also because of the Kivu ebola epidemic in the DRC.

For a while, I thought Lake Kariba was one of the African Great Lakes. Turns out, it's an artificial lake/reservoir! At 5,580 square kilometres, it's bigger than Lake Albert!
